Cruz: No Actual Voters Ask About the ‘Silly Birther Attack’
Breitbart ^ | 24 Jan 2016 | Pam Key

Posted on 01/24/2016 2:17:53 PM PST by Isara

Sunday on Fox News Channel’s “MediaBuzz,” while discussing the controversy over if his birth in Canada to an American citizen mother causes him to be not eligible to run for president of the United States, Republican presidential candidate Sen. Ted Cruz ..... no “actual voters” ask him about the issue.

Cruz said, “We were in the midst of a bus tour, 26 counties in six days, enormous enthusiasm, but from what you look, looking at the media, it was a great field test. We would do, at pretty much every event, a press gaggle -by the way, a lot of other candidates don’t do press gaggles. I take questions all the time. Half to two thirds of the questions from the reporters would be about Donald Trump and the latest attack, the latest Tweet. When you go into the town hall, one county, 7,000 people, in one county we had 700 people. 10% of the county came out. Another town with 600 people, 150 came –”

He continued, “But here’s my point, Howie. When we do town halls and actual voters would ask questions, nobody would ask about the silly birther attack nobody would ask about Donald Trump. They ask about the real problems facing this country. How do we defeat ISIS? How do we stop Iran from getting nuclear weapons? How do we protect our Second Amendment or religious liberty? How do we get more jobs?”

If he is calling this a “silly birther” issue, he is delusional. Liberals will clean his clock if he is nominated. Liberals got their Obama they are not going to give cover to Cruz!

“It’s not anything people talk to me about as I travel around the country. It is never raised in my town halls, it is never raised in my other meetings with people.” - Hillary Clinton

F-U Ted. For someone who supposedly reveres the Constitution as written, it’s not a good look to go around dismissively insulting those of us who are concerned that it be followed.

My problem with Trump is he listens to everyone and agrees at some point with all of them.

If it’s so silly, why did you renounce your Natural Born Canadian Citizenship.

****************

Like it or not Cruz has got to wake up the Birth Issue and deal with it. He may ignore it
during the GOP primary season but if he does get the nomination then you can bet the
house that the Democrats will plaster the Canadian Birth issue all over him and the media.

Cruz needs to get into real life about this issue.

This is dumb of Cruz. I believe he is NBC but still, if his opposition raises this and it goes to the courts, it could be a problem. He could have been Trump’s veep but it’s too risky if it were thrown to the courts.

Cruz knows the truth and he is being obtuse: THERE IS NO CLARITY in the Constitution on this issue. He needs / I guess needed, it’s too late now, to get a ruling that he is NBC for the purpose of this election. He didn’t get one.

We need to spend time away from election years and get this amended, get a precise definition into the Constitution, period. All the arguments for various definitions could take weeks.

He’s being an ostrich. But it doesn’t matter: sadly, Trump can’t pick him now, which would have helped Cruz be President one day, and he’s not going to win any primaries. It’s a shame.

I used to think that, too, but this campaign seems to have exposed a dark underside to Ted Cruz that has previously been ignored. I guess we all thought, “If Sarah Palin is OK with him, then it is good enough for me.” The grandstanding in the Senate is beginning to look a little too calculated. It is beginning to really look as if no one who works with him for very long ends up liking him. I wonder how long it is going to take for Glen Beck to turn on Ted?

Cruz said "the silly birther attack". To people who take their ConstitutionalConservative values seriously, whatever their feelings about Cruz's status, the questions aren't "silly". They're sincere. And they're not attacks.

How would you know? Only your guy gets coverage.
In your dreams, all of you have looked at my old posts KNOW that I have posted HUNDRED times or more, Cruz would never work for a dude with no principles much less conservative ones. Mind blowing that with his record he has trumpees support and trumpees trash all who disagree the same way your hero does.
You might think you are winning something. You are only fooling yourselves. The continued downward deviation of our culture is now promoted by trumpees.

He's a good attorney but a lousy politician. He doesn't seem to know what compromise is....it's his way or the highway.

To clarify, I would ask him directly, "Was John Roberts (and the other 4 justices) correct in their conclusions on Obamacare". That'll tell me a lot.

That depends.
he could be Trump’s VP and act as a poison pill which the supreme Court can be forced outright to swallow.

Trump gets into office.
The sitting president of the United States calls upon the supreme court to rule on the issue of whether or not a person who once held citizenship in another country (and absolutely the president could force them not to try to issue a ruling from another angle) can constitutionally hold the office of president.

If they rule yes, Cruz is vetted.

If they rule no Trump has carte blanche to revoke everything Obama ever signed off on.

Did I forget to add I still look at backgrounds? I discount DT’s obvious lies. I don’t just believe him because he says so now. That is my basis for note supporting him. Yours is your believe that he means what he says now, and that he won’t change his mind again.

I listen to a lot of talk radio (many different shows). There are a good number of callers convinced Ted is not eligible.
