Newt was going to be the model of the future and they destroyed him. What followed was a go-along, uni-party, establishment congress.

20 dark years later, along comes Ted Cruz who goes against the establishment, and the Democrats, GOPe and Trump try to destroy him.

What could possibly come next?

Maybe not, because of all the changes the country is going through. If you want to get elected even in some very conservative states you can't go full metal Ted Cruz.

PS. I took a look at the picture of Ted on the article's site and thought that was the "other reason" people hated him. I understand that the media are looking for pictures of Ted that will turn voters off, but there certainly are a lot of photos of him out there that do just that.
