The United States is scrutinizing developments in Poland, the U.S. trade czar said on Sunday when asked if Washington was concerned about the European Union's rule of law inquiry into Poland and Standard and Poor's cut to Warsaw's credit rating.

"As a fellow democracy we do follow developments here very closely," U.S. Trade Representative Michael Froman told reporters during his visit to Google Campus in Warsaw.

"We certainly do follow it. As a democracy, we want to make sure that Poland's democracy continues to address the issues."

Poland is one of the proudest nations on earth. It survived being completely erased off the map. Its people stood strong and ended Soviet rule. For what? To be controlled by EU elitists who treat them as their slaves?

I hope Poland smartens up, breaks away from the EU, and brings some other maligned "poor boys" in the EU with them. Being a third way, neither Russia nor western Europe but controlling their own identity as a buffer just might save them and Western Civilization.

JMHO

What an arrogant statement.

If Poland doesn't please America, maybe Obama will issue an executive order dissolving Poland's government.

Your honest opinion is the same as mine. Poland has earned the right to sound off and shove off if need be. They are a strong people who have had enough. They’re to be admired.

"The European Commission, the European Union's executive branch, has launched an unprecedented inquiry into whether Warsaw's new nationalist-minded government has breached the bloc's democracy standards in taking more control of the judiciary and public media."

Is the Polish economy in trouble? Or is the EU punishing Poland for political reasons?

Its a supposed “conservative” government. The left is pushing back. It seems like a mixed bag, maybe some increased taxes. They don’t want homosexual marriage. Maybe more importantly, they don’t want muslim refugees. I suspect this is at the heart of it.

So EU and activist groups are up in arms. So the Polish government starts sacking people and pushing back, and so are accused of being “right wing” authoritarians.

Thats what I manage to gather.

Of course the media won’t report the pro-PiS marches which will dwarf these protests.
