By the way, I am not a smoker. I dislike cigarettes and don’t even care for vaping.

I am not a militant about it, however.

The further this race progresses the less and less I like Trump. He is not a true Conservative.

In fairness his bankruptcies were business bankruptcies and not personal. But the fact is that he did run 4 of his businesses into the ground leaving his investors and creditors holding the bag.

I am more concerned about his inability to take criticism and his attempts to destroy everyone in his path to the presidency than I am about his marriages and bankruptcies.

I am not sure I want someone with an inability to take criticism and a short fuse as Commander in Chief, or running the IRS or the Justice department.

In many ways his temperament is strikingly similar to Obama’s.

But that’s just my uninformed stupid ignorant opinion.

Trump bought a casino.

The cash flow of the casino became such that it could not pay its bills without a cash infusion from Trump, which he was unwilling to do.

Trump's operating method is that each property stands or falls on its own.

Trump doesn’t roll over and play dead. Good or bad that’s his tendencies.

Yes, a right to pursue it. We all have a right to pursue cases will can not win.

Do you really want someone who has the character traits that make him willing to use legal intimidation to silence his critics at the head of the IRS and DOJ?

I am baffled by the willful blindness of many of Trump’s Freerepublic supporters. I’m not talking about obvious trolls who just joined; I mean otherwise conservative posters. I remember a time when a big government (a pro-NSA, unrepentant abuser of eminent domain, who hints at further abuse of executive action), litigious, Manhattan social-liberal wasn’t something many on this board would have been excited about. He’s like Mitt Romney with a big mouth and (the promise of) a big wall.

All I can say is, when you marry a cheater, don’t be surprised when they cheat on you. You can’t say “he’s just being smart politically”, or “he’s just using Art-of-the-Deal negotiating tactics” when he says something you don’t like, but trust him implicitly when he throws out populist Republican red-meat conveniently during a primary. Wait...I guess you CAN do that, as many are. I just don’t get it. How can you even be sure the southern border position is sincere and not up for negotiation? Certainly one should question his consistency, if not his integrity.

I think that many have just gone too far at this point to turn back, or examine the really “yuuge” ideological problems with this guy. We all enjoyed seeing him bring up topics nobody would be discussing if not for him, and attacking PC culture, but I suspect too many went all-in on the guy too early and staked too much on him to turn back now without some humble pie on forums and around dinner tables. So they go on following blindly.

I don’t even mind the ad hominem attacks so much. Both sides of the Cruz v. Trump argument have fallen into those. But seeing conservative posters adopt liberal talking points on Ethanol, taxing the “rich” on carried interest, laying down social issues to “win” whatever that means beyond the election, and how it was “legal” to abuse eminent domain for private interests really disheartens me.

Our founders chose a discerning position with regard to government, walking the fine line between tyranny and anarchy (which inevitably leads to more tyranny). Yet now, to “win” Freepers are acting like populist mobs, reaching for a mere assassin against the prior abusers of power. When does that ever work? How did it work for 19th century France? How about those who hated the impotent Weimar Republic? The abuses of Batista? The Czars in Russia?

Conservatives, unlike liberals, should not be surprised when their pig starts walking. We are too thoughtful to have the excuse of simple youth or ignorance. Support Trump at your own ideological peril. It’s not that I don’t think he can win; it’s that it will bring me no joy to see you proven wrong when as president he further disregards the separation of powers and appoints socially liberal justices.

I will admit that he will get somewhat better “deals” than Boehner or Ryan... I suppose if you are selling out conservatism, one should indeed get the best price possible.

I have zero problem with anyone pursuing their legal rights.

I do have a problem with someone who fails to properly disclose their liabilities on FEC filings though. Solicitor General and his wife a Managing Director of Goldman Sachs.

And with him fighting for America, I welcome that strength.

As it stands now, Iran is giddy with the future war with us. Can’t wait to see who steps up to denounce that reality.

New world order is no longer a conspiracy - we want a strong America to return.

You know he filed it on the Senate form but left it off on the FEC form, right? And that he filed an amended one when when it was discovered. Both were likely filed by staffers.

If you discover Trump had to file an amended return, would you have a problem?

Trump didn’t have a problem. His stuff was filed properly and he’s not an attorney. Of all the people in the world who should have known the proper filing instructions its Ted and Heidi Cruz. No way around it.

I pity you if the IRS holds you to the same standard you hold Cruz & his staff. Miss the checkbox last year? JAIL.

You act like he has perpetrated a years long omission.

Are you really sure Trump has never made any mistakes on any Federal form submissions? Ever? Not one amended tax return? Ever? From any of the business entities? If he had, would it change your allegiance?

You really believe Cruz himself filled out the FEC filing form? Do you believe Trump sits at the computer and logs in to turbotax.com, too?

I’m sure that competent accountants filed Trumps FEC filing. It would not surprise me if Ted and Heidi did it themselves. Why don’t you try to find out and let me know.

The media hammered Romney night and day for being a "one percenter" an TRUMP has 10 times his wealth. The MSM hasn't even started reporting what they have on him. Not to mention the lies they'll slander him with, like when dingy Harry said Romney hadn't paid his taxes for 10 years and they repeated that lie for months.

Bottom line, was Obama a better choice for the nation as a result of their slanted headlines and daily attacks? I trust we agree that he was not.

Marxists despise other people's wealth until they figure out a way to get their hands on it and put it in their own pockets with the least effort and know-how possible.

The WaPo under Jeff Bezos is a shadow of its former self, and it was never right-of-center to begin with. My parents wouldn't let it in the house, and that was back in the 50s.

Agreed. Hopefully if Donald gets the nomination he’ll fight like Romney didn’t when they attacked. What am I thinking, of course he will.

It's what we need! I was so disgusted when Romney let Candy Crawlface walk all over him. He should have called the debate official on the floor right there.
