California Liberal in the state legislature join New York legislature in introducing a bill to ban all cell phones that can encrypt data that cannot be deciphered by the phone's maker or authorities. Microsoft is secretly pleased that Windows phones are moribund -- it saves them the trouble of having to consider their customers' privacy. Because with the prior example of Windows 10, you can bet that Windows phones aren't about to start encrypting in a way that only the customer can decrypt.
