Sarah Palin Defends Donald Trump Against Ted Cruz's 'New York' Attacks at Massive Rally in Tulsa

Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump and his ally Sarah Palin galvanized an overflow crowd estimated at over 15,000 in Tulsa, Oklahoma Wednesday afternoon.

Palin took some not-so-subtle jabs at Sen. Ted Cruz and other Republicans for criticizing Trump's New York background, while Trump said that Hillary Clinton might end up "in the clink."

Palin called Trump "a redhead from the big red Apple" and turned her attention to Republicans attacking their own frontrunner. "They're saying we're not red enough, we're not conservative enough. And I say, what the heck do they know about conservatism?"

Her jabs at Cruz, without mentioning him by name, were clear.

Her remarks are excellent! In her usual common sense way, she gets to the bottom of what was so nasty about Cruz’s crack at NY.

Sarah needs to go back and take care of her criminal son and her daughter who can’t seem to not sleep with any guy who tells her she’s pretty.

It was TRUMP who ascribed his pro-abort position in 1999 to "New York Values". I am hopeful that Trump is truly pro-life now, but based on his own words, it is because his values now deviate from "New York Values" as he described them in 1999.

Palin’s speeches are like a live Twitter feed - one liners with little substance.

Good thing you don't have a daughter (and probably shouldn't) and that your son Logan will never grow up and displease or embarrass you publicly.

Therefore, you are entitled to continue hurling those sharp-edged stones at Mrs. Palin, a private citizen as are you. Be mindful though, Sarah Palin has done many good things for the people of this Nation. And you...? You are an excellent anonymous sniper on a public Internet forum.

Watch her speech. The best part was when she talked about her son’s PTSD and the lack of appreciation that Obama shows to the vets.

I am a Cruz supporter, but the behvior of an endorser's adult offspring is not germane to Trump's candidacy. That doesn't help Cruz, it doesn't hurt Trump, and it doesn't help any of the parties mentioned. You can do better.

Yup. Because anything taht isn't a one-liner either gets no press at all, or gets contorted. Twitter is Trump's preferred mode of communication for a reason.

I DO wish that Gov. Palin would not pronounce "Deal" as "Dill".

I disagree and here’s why. Over the weekend I was told by many Trump supporters on this forum that the behavior of Trump’s children was a direct result of the spectacular job that Donald did raising them.
If that is true, is not the reverse true as well?

Sarah Palin has let down both Tea-Party patriots and conservatives with her endorsement of Donald Trump when she had the Gold Standard of a conservative in Ted Cruz.

She has become a disappointment.

This political stuff is really depressing. It is like the old television show ‘As the World Turns’ has come alive. Will we elect someone president of our nation who has declared, “I have never ask God for anything.”?
Do Christians understand what that means and all it entails?

He’ll love her through the primaries (where she’s helpful) and dump her over the summer.

That may well be. I just hope that your son Logan isn’t a disappointment to you at some
point in your life. Sometimes we do our best as we see it and that still doesn’t keep
individuals from doing things we don’t approve of.

Yup, probably will.

She has hurt her own reputation worse than she will ever help the Campaign Conservative Donald Trump.

The online comments from posters other than on Free Republic are overwhelmingly negative to this endorsement of hers.

That's what happens when you sell-out your principles for someone YOU think is electable over someone who embodies your principles.

At that point, your word means nothing to a good part of your supporters.

Not necessarily. I have seen families with 12 kids, all treated as similarly as possible, and each one is his own, with different results.

I don't know much about Trump's kids, except that they are attractive, don't get into legal/drinking trouble, and are financially successful.

That doesn't make him a great father. Frankly, leaving their mother (in the case of Ivana's kids) disqualifies him for that. (In the unlikely event that she was the driving force, it still means the children did not have an ideal upbring, and have done well in the world despite it, not because of it.)

President Reagan's kids were mostly a side show (Michael neing the exception). Reagan was a great president.

Palin's son served, and I know some good men who were messed up (alcohol especially) after that.

I don't mind Trump or his supporters being positive about his children. Smart voters know "your mileage may vary".

Of course, the Cruz girls are little sweeties, and can more than hold their own.

Oh. he and I are not seeing eye to eye right now. He’s lazy as all get out and don’t get me started on the crazy ex-girlfriend. But I take responsibility for what I’ve done wrong as a parent, and I don’t blame his behavior on everyone and everything else.

I saw some people trying to spin that as if she was somehow blaming Obama for her son's condition.

Palin's endorsement doesn't mean that much to me one was or the other. I just thought trying to interpret it that way was just really lame.

The Palin of 2016 is clearly not the Palin of 2008. She chose celebrity over statesmanship. Her current admirers are just as cultish as the Donald’s. In a sense they’re a perfect match
