Hans Anatol von Spakovsky is an American attorney and a former member of the Federal Election Commission. He was nominated to the FEC by President George W. Bush on December 15, 2005 and was appointed by recess appointment on January 4, 2006. Well, that's just scary.

And he was a former member of the FEC? I would have 86ed his "resume", for sloppiness like that.
I'm probably conflating events, but I think he had some role in Labor Department too. I do recall that he was investigating some sort of shady dealings, and wrote a really good investigatory report. He's no dummy, but he fell into the trap of trusting Katyal Clement and the rest of 'em. Either he didn't research this, or he is part of the willful misleading chorus.
I tell you, if the people wake up to the fact they are being deliberately misled, they will be angry about that.
