Donald Trump: I’m going to win N.J., Pa. and possibly N.Y.
The Washington Times ^ | 1/15/2016 | David Sherfinski

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump predicted Friday that he can expand the electoral map into states like Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and possibly even New York, saying there will be "the largest turnout in the history of this country."

"I'm going to win states that they never thought of winning," Mr. Trump said on MSNBC's "Morning Joe." "I mean, I think I have a chance of winning New York state, as an example."

"Can you imagine if we ever won New York? Nobody even thinks about that when they do the polls," he said. "Plus we're going to win West Virginia big, we're going to win Virginia, we're going to win places that nobody else is going to win. We're going to win New Jersey; we're going to win Pennsylvania. We're going to win Florida. We're going to win Ohio."

"We're going to win places that a lot of people aren't going to win, and the other thing is ... we're going to have the largest turnout in the history of this country, voter turnout in the history of the country," Mr. Trump said.

"And most of those new people that have never voted before ... are going to be voting for Trump," he said. "Because they're tired of being run and led by stupid people."

It ain’t bragging if you really can do it.

Why shall the Democrats even bother to hold a convention this year? Just name a sacrificial lamb and get his (or her) name printed on the various state ballots.

It may not even be necessary to put a check box beside the name, as nobody is going to mark it anyway.

Another consideration now is that Trump pretty much has New York and any area where New Yorkers have an influence assured for convention delegates. That’s a whole lot of delegates.

Forget Pa....fool’s gold. Trump has a shot at Colorado, New Mexico, New Hampshire & Nevada IMO. Way outside shot at Michigan, maybe.

The author of the snopes piece:

Kim LaCapria is a New York-based content manager and longtime snopes.com message board participant. Although she was investigated and found to be "probably false" by snopes.com in early 2002, Kim later began writing for the site due to an executive order unilaterally passed by President Obama during a secret, late-night session (without the approval of Congress). Click like and share if you think this is an egregious example of legislative overreach.

If that figure of 20% of Democrats voting for Trump is even halfway real, you betcha!

How many Democrats would cross over and vote for Cruz, I wonder?

I can see Maine and NH as definite pick-ups.

PA and NJ are definitely on the radar as well as WI and Mich.

“How many Democrats would cross over and vote for Cruz, I wonder?”

I dont see any indication that any would. I dont even think Cruz supporters have even speculated that such would occur.

Right now I see Cruz as between a Bob Dole and George W. in terms of electoral appeal. A candidate that COULD win if the Democrats screw up real hard, but one slip-up away from disaster.
