Former Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele said Friday he thinks Donald Trump will be the Republican nominee for president.
"I‘m gonna say this and I know people are going to scratch their heads and go âwhat?â but I donât think he can [be stopped]," Steele said on 1210 WPHT in an interview posted by BuzzFeed News. "That window has closed and I think Donald Trump effectively closed it over the last couple of months."
"You tell me who stops him and when do they do it," he added, noting Trump‘s strong positions in the polls.
"I don‘t see how that momentum gets stopped right now," he added. "I don‘t know who breaks it. Come on, youâve had eight months. You‘ve had eight months to take him down."

Trying to destroy Cruz?
Well, no.......... he made an assessment based on his observations that Trump has the momentum to win.
the unstated assessment is that it is apparent that Cruz just doesn’t have adequate support to carry the day. what is true for Cruz is also true of the others that in effect no longer really matter
The GOP establishment should be happy. They will get their liberal with Trump.
Sadly, does Cruz even have a chance?
You make a great point there.
My comment was more going to the fact that I don’t trust the GOP at all.
I like both Cruz and Trump very very much, I simply have reached the point where I don’t trust anything the GOP does at all.
How many times is this article going to be posted? Wasn’t Steele labeled a RINO on this forum not that long ago?
Go Trump
BTTT
All of these issues are very important and had been spiked up to this point. We ALL owe Trump a debt of gratitude, most of all for destroying the insidious PC culture.
Add to that..back to the DNC where you belong!
This it precisely why Trump will win in a monumental landslide. Union rank and file love Trump. They KNOW he will bring back good-paying jobs. I could offer my inside info if requested.
He will bring back manufacturing jobs but most of them are non union. Only 10% of manufacturing is unionized.
Uh oh, Steele has never been right about anything. Next I want to find out what Dick Morris thinks.
First, let me state there will never be the “perfect” candidate. With that said, as I see it we will have two choices, Cruz or Trump, (I won’t even consider bringing a demodummie into the discussion). Rubio is too much of a used car, Florida swampland, “tonic” salesman so he’s out. Cruz is a slick talker with some good ideas, knows the law but is limited in “business experiences”. Let’s face it, government IS big business. Trump is a PROVEN leader but NOT a politician. At this time in our history we need a proven leader, a get it done kind of person who will surround himself with politically savvy people and most importantly people who will get the job done.
Which do we want or which do we need?
And in exchange for believing his loud-mouth bluster, you get a liberal conman who plays both sides and cannot be trusted to do anything he says.
Yes, please do.
You know....
After 25 years of being given leftist leadership from the “R” party. It’s come down to this.
I like Cruz, I like Trump. The NY Values talk is fair game IMHO. Trump has a past like this:
New York Values? Video Shows Trump Supporting ‘Gays’ in Military, Partial Birth Abortion
Cruz has waffled on amnesty several times, and if you don’t believe it, google is your friend.
These people are politicians after all and it’s campaign season.
IMO so much damage has been done that no matter who gets elected it won’t make much of a difference. Does the fall accelerate or does it slow down?
If a wall gets built it will be worth it.
