Logic dictates no such thing.
Let’s be wary of demonizing this young man. Even if he was not physically threatened, he had a responsibility to secure the safety of his men. He lacked the authority to take any action that might create an International Incident with an Enemy State. He’d be out of bounds for ordering shots fired.
Get the damned women out of the combat situations in all services-—only the Marines have the balls to fight this shit—
His “fantastic” is not believable and a signal
Most of what happens these days ‘stinks like rotten fish’
” I think Judge Napolitano said the Iranians broke Geneva Conventions rules in two ways: (1) Photos of prisoners cannot show them being humiliated, and (2) prisoners cannot be made to wear garb of the opposing country.”
Unless we are at war with Iran the Geneva Convention is irrelevant. You would think Napolitano would know that.
WTF indeed. Two riverines captured by a couple of guys in bass boats?
Drop a sea anchor and radio for help.
Face it, folks-—this Navy is not the Navy I once knew——in WW2
We’ve been at war with Iran since the 1980s.
L
ref my comment. In the end it, it only matters WHERE they were... no matter what sort of story they tell us, it will never be verifiable. My point is, they need to be a little more careful than that.
“Pretty s###ty “logic” you operate under.”
They might have been under general orders not to engage the Iranians and if they had been swarmed with those little boats they might not have had much choice.
We shall see what the “official” word is.
Yeah, that story didn’t stay on the radar long.
“I’m not up to speed on this incident, but from what I read previously, they had a mechanical issue and drifted into Iranian territory.”
Something stinks here if the info we have so far is correct. Two boats simultaneously incapacitated? Neither could anchor before drifting into Iranian waters? Neither could radio for help? Two heavily armed crews surrender to some guys in glorified sport fishing boats?
“I read - not allowed to eat with the men or be at the table.”
Did those men go ahead and eat?
“Face it, folks-this Navy is not the Navy I once knew=in WW2”
As I said, this isn’t exactly the Samuel B. Roberts story, the destroyer that fought like a battleship.
So far the whole incident doesn’t pass the smell test.
thanks.
Personally, I think their parameters prohibited them from defending themselves with force and the Iranians were looking for an incident that they didn't get... at least this time.
Chivalry has no place in the military. Women who demand to go into battle know, enemies don't follow the PC rules and things could get really bad for them, unspeakably bad. They were sternly warned but decided to ride the PC wave anyway.
Court martial him.
