Ted Cruz Says Trump “Embodies New York Values”
BuzzFeed ^ | January 12, 2016 | Christopher Massie

Ted Cruz said on Tuesday that Donald Trump “embodies New York values,” and that Trump’s constant attacks on him are a sign that the businessman is worried about his front-runner status in the race. Cruz made the comment on the Howie Carr Show, after the host asked him about Trump playing Bruce Springsteen’s “Born in the USA”, a reference to the allegation, recently trumpeted by Trump, that Cruz may be ineligible to serve as president because he was born in Canada.

Well Ted, there is another thing that Trump embodies, and that is New York’s 29 electoral votes should he be the nominee, the first GOP candidate to pull that off since ‘84.

Could Ted do the same?

Ted....that’s an empty statement that cannot be defined in less than a million words.

Trump and Guilani embody the great side of NY values unfortunately there is the other side of the coin with de Blasio and his ilk.

I, for one, am glad to see the gloves come off.

They were bound to sooner or later. Ted is an opponent, and Trump knows no other means to deal with opponents except to - well “Trump” them.

And Ted is no pansy - no pushover. He endured weeks of Trump’s bullying before he said “enough”.

This is politics, folks. Politics ain’t beanbag.

“Ted....that’s an empty statement that cannot be defined in less than a million words.”

Here’s a few more...

The Donald may be a great real estate tycoon and fair-to middling reality show actor, but he does not have a Presidential bone in his body. Coming up in the corrupt cesspool of New York business and politics; he’s the essence of an unscrupulous influence peddler...he even brags about it, “part of doing business”. I think every Trump supporter needs to ask if they think President the Donald will be willing to clean up the filthy system or will he simply partake in the bounty from the other side of the table? Maybe we truly need this thin-skinned slime ball to disinfect the reprobate shit house? However, I think there is a better way forward...Cruz!

BTW, Cruz won’t need NY to get elected!

Chew on that PUNY!

Cruz will come to find his remark not helpful, and the bell cannot be unrung.

As a lifetime New Yorker, Cruz is 100% right and saying a candidate has New York values is about the most damning thing you can say about him.

Even most of the Republicans here are way beyond RINOs. The “Republican” Nassau County Executive actually made a TV Ad endorsing the reelection of supreme gun grabber, Andrew Cuomo.

New Yorkers have been abandoning this Liberal sinkhole by the millions and starting to screw up states like North Carolina, Virginia and Florida with their New York values and Left Wing politics.

I think I agree with you. Cruz was doing the correct thing in staying above it all... letting Trump drag him into the mud-slinging is like letting the Flash goad you into a footrace. When it comes to media bantering, Trump is King, and it is one of his very good points as a potential GOP candidate. The GOP needs to learn this skill badly... but taking it up, as a novice, just weeks before Iowa, is not the way to go.

New York values. I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss them.

So Cruz says Trump is a New Yorker, eh. I am pretty sure New York is in the USA, eh.

What do you have to support your assertion that in the general election Trump will win New York?

I’m not trying to pick a fight and I don’t want to get into a Trump/Cruz battle. This is a serious question.

If you can convince me, with evidence, that Trump will win NY, I’d consider supporting him over Cruz.

“And Ted is no pansy - no pushover. “

So is that why he spent months letting Trump take care of all of the other candidates while he sat off in the corner?

Where was Ted on Bush? Perry? Walker? Carly? Carson? Kaisch?

No where to be found. These days if Rubio even so much as says his name, you have conservative blogs and talk radio have a heart attack and go into full “circle the wagons” mode around him because he constantly needs people to run cover for him at the first hint of trouble.

But yeah, totally the greatest badass ever to run for office.

Say what you will, but they didn’t give up those goofy rainbow flags like the “solid south” so easily gave up their banners after one shooting in SC.

And the place that took the biggest attack on this nation since 1941, and bounced back, should not so easily be s*it on by Cruz with such a line, because Trump could easily use that against him.
