GOD created everything. (period)
God created time, but many Christians believe they are experts on God’s time. They aren’t : )
God is a relative of time. 1st Cousins I think.
Somebody really smart said that.
Yes! Especially the Seventh Day Sabbath!! He even sanctified it and commanded everyone to “remember it!!!” (with his finger in granite, no less)
I think everything exist at once.
“So the evening and the morning were the first day.” Genesis 1:5.
Since God was the only one around at the time, we take His Word for it.
Short answer: time is a byproduct of electromagnetic waves in motion, and since everything in the physical world is a collection of electromagnetic waves, then the creator of the waves is the creator of time as well.
For a more complete answer, one would have to discuss this with a nuclear physicist.
More than that. God, being without limit, is Infinite. God is all things and more than all things. There is no "not God". There cannot be.
All God had to create from was God. If all you had to create from were brick, then everything would be brick. Similarly, since all God had to create from is God, then all must be God, in varying forms and expressions.
Time was invented by the guy whose wife was never ready when they were supposed to leave.
It was a failure.
Isnt time just a construct?
We know that it speeds up and slows down due to gravity, can be bent and twisted, and our measurements on Earth only really apply to this ball’s rotation, tilt, and orbit. So whatever his reasoning for it, we likely dont really remotely understand how it really works.
Time is one of those things I can’t seem to wrap my mind around. Sometimes when I lie in bed waiting to go to sleep, I will think about time.
We know some things about it. It can be measured, at least in our own world.
Does it go on forever. Has it lasted forever? Is time the mechanism of how God controls things?
One thing which the Bible seems to indicate is that God does not guess what will happen in the future. He makes it happen.
God realized he had to also create time when he created woman. When you talk to a pretty woman, time accelerates. When you are waiting for a woman when she is shopping, time comes to a virtual halt.
There is no time in space, no reference points; only on Earth is time calculated based on Earth’s rotation.
God created our entire universe, but lives outside of it.
So yes, God created time from our perspective.
Think of it this way:
Imagine you are an online game developer. From the perspective of characters in the game and even players that just play the game from our world. Time started when the game was launched.
The same is true with God.
God created time to prevent everything from happening at once.
Interesting philosophical question. Can a timeless being, without beginning or end, existing everywhere and possibly everywhere through time, even conceive of time?
A better question is did God create the DMV?
