On Tuesday night, my daughter and her friends went down to Claremont, New Hampshire to see Donald Trump in action. She and her chums range from the not terribly political to those with the usual enthusiasms of youth, so they went mainly because Trump's a hot ticket, and we don't get a lot of those in the Granite State. Her only other candidate encounter this season was at the North Haverhill Fair last summer when Lindsey Graham pounced outside the 4-H barn, no doubt with an eye to recruiting her for one of his "rotating first ladies".

Just because someone goes to see Katy Perry in concert, doesn’t mean they will vote for her for president.

Elton John and Andrew Lloyd Webber? That says a lot. No us music allowed. Wimpy music only.

The campaign will progress, Trump will triumph, and the snarky ones will fade away. In a few short months you will have a hard time remembering certain know-it-all posters names.

My goodness. Odd comments. I found Steyn’s column remarkably fair and informative.

Yes, because whenever I go to a rock concert, I’m always thinking “would that singer or guitarist make a good president?”

At least you know if they're at a Trump event, they're there to see him.

Some of the people at a Cruz campaign stop may just be at Pizza Ranch for some pizza.

Wow, that's interesting. Mark Steyn has serious chops as a reviewer of entertainment, as well as as a political commentator. Trump could scarcely have a better review of a campaign event. It could easily motivate a knowledgeable reader to undergo some inconvenience to attend a Trump event.

And you were doing such a good job of staying off the Trump threads.

I guess the loneliness was more than you could bear.

"A bossy girl of vaguely sapphic mien led us all in a 'Black Lives Matter! Black Lives Matter!' chant, which is pretty funny on a street that's 99.99999999999 per cent white. If black lives matter that much, you'd think they could have bussed one in. As enthusiasm faltered, she segued deftly into 'Don't give in to racist fear! Immigrants are welcome here!' I must say, as an immigrant myself, I've never found Vermont that welcoming, but perhaps I'm insufficiently exotic for their tastes."
