After "Escape" Mexican Authorities Have Re-Captured Drug Kingpin El Chapo

Six months ago infamous Mexican drug kingpin and billionaire Joaquin El Chapo Guzman "escaped," for the second time, from a prison in Mexico. He escaped the first time by hiding in a laundry basket. The second time, he left the prison through a tunnel in his cell.

Pro-tip: El Chapo isn't "escaping," they're letting him out. That's how things work in Mexico.— Katie Pavlich (@KatiePavlich) July 13, 2015

Now, El Chapo has been recaptured and the United States, specifically the Drug Enforcement Agency, is demanding he be extradicted to the United States.

The navy said in a statement that marines, acting on a tip, stormed into a home in the town of Los Mochis before dawn. They were fired on from inside the building. Five suspects were killed and six others arrested, according to the statement.

Mision cumplida: lo tenemos. Quiero informar a los mexicanos que Joaquín Guzman Loera ha sido detenido.— Enrique Pena Nieto (@EPN) January 8, 2016

How will he "escape" this time? Nobody knows, but the guards he's paying off will know soon.

El Chapo is responsible for the murders, including beheadings, acid baths, dismemberment and more, of thousands of Mexican citizens.

What will happen first, Hillary’s indictment on misappropriated FBI files, or Chapo’s next ‘shocking’ breakout?

I’m predicting a June escape.

Congratulations to the Mexican Marines who were able to capture El Chapo alive after a firefight. It must have been a herculean example of restraint to not administer summary justice then and there.

Low-information theater. Whoever heads the Sinaloa cartel, and whichever cartel has the upper hand, the drug trade continues unabated. The war on supply and demand cannot be won.

Mexico’s catch and release program. He’ll be out in less than six months.

The best part of this story was the discovery of the fact that Mexico has Marines. This is a country of 100 million people with 0 tanks and 6 fighter planes...for the whole military. They’ve got MARINES??

They’ve been using their marines to assist in dealing with the cartels for a long time. They’re probably the best organization Mexico has to get anything done and done right, IMHO.

Common sense dictates sending him to Chicago federal court where Sinaloa ruled dope trade

Save the Mex govt mucho headache

Problem is he will tell the US folks the dirt on all he paid down there in the Cartel Plaza system of paying off cops and army and politicos

And it likely goes all the way to the top and even into US and Europe etc

I’m surprised they didn’t kill him

The Plaza System of corruption is a must read for anyone interested in how it works down there in narco land
