And an outlet to plug it into. My son got into his drone at Christmas. “What the heck!? It says here the battery provides 6 minutes of flight and video. Then 140 minutes for a full charge again!!??”
He flies that thing over our deck while we are out there having happy hour and we will shoot it down.
I’m just pointing out that regulating drones isn’t necessarily new, since the FAA has regulated the air for decades.

There is some really light and compact solar panels online, campers solar panels that fold up to charge a cellphone, i have one thats a panel and li ion battery, has dual usb outlets, very high capacity. About the size of a very thick cellphone.
Electrical power won’t be such an issue unless an emp weapon had been used, and electrical cannot be killed if you revert to old fashion generators with wind, water or mechanical momentum such as pedal power.
It very much may become a drone wars in the near future unless the market is restricted, killed or controlled.
The use of drones will far exceed what people currently think, the size of them is getting smaller, the range and flight time growing, soon enough will be micro engines able to pull energy right over the air like wireless charging, much like Tesla visioned or like Edger Rice Burroughs wrote about, aircraft that flew by electric motors drawing power by radio waves.

What to do if the drone doesn’t fly out of the owner’s property, but has a camera powerful enough to record high quality video of someone else’s yard while hovering 200’ above his own property?
Over at a local park there is a group of guys who buzz people with their small drones. They have cameras attached so I figure their victims are on Youtube with the guys laughing in the background.
Sounds like those turkeys need an attitude adjustment, it’s all fun and games until somebody is hurt.
Then how in the world does the FAA have any say over quadcopters which are typically never flown that high ?
I’m sorry - he took down a drone hovering 200 feet over his house with a shotgun? First, why was it hovering over his house at all, regardless of how high it was? Second, what was the choke on that shotgun? Pretty good shooting, sounds like.
I wonder how hard it would be to make a focused microwave emitter.
