A hydrogen bomb could peel all the bark off the trees.

Leaving the Norks with nothing left in their diet...

See the facility described and illustrated in the following from 2006, and you'll see how N. Korea's claim is likely correct. Thanks to TigerLikesRooster.

It’s pretty likely No Korea had help, probably from rogue scientists out of Pakistan.

Those missiles shown years ago weren’t fake, either. The conspiracy-theory-like denials are getting old. Underestimating our enemies with vain assumptions is poor strategy. Our anti-missile defense and offense systems should be upgraded, even at the small costs of interrupting pay raises for civilian salary interests and reconsidering foolish diplomatic trends.

The risk of nuclear exchanges started by rogue nations and likely joined by larger expansionist nations is higher than ever before.

Watch the video for footage of what appears to be the preparation and shot. Thanks to TigerLikesRooster.

The sequence in an H-bomb is, #1, fission bomb, which provides the heat and pressure (and neutrons) needed to get the deuterium to fuse as #2 and largest kaboom; #3 is secondary fission explosion made possible by the outward pressure from the fusion; #4 is a secondary fusion in the core, from the leftovers; and #5 is a small fission explosion from the last of the fissile material. The sequence takes a fraction of a second.

I’d imagine the Israeli subs are out of their bases and won’t come up any time soon.

I don’t doubt that already have a couple of nukes (by supply) and that they have the technology to build more and are doing so.

I have samples of Trinitite that are still radioactive. Fallout, especially for a ground-lever thermonuke, can last a long time. Cesium-137 has a half life of 30+ years, Tritium 13+ years, Cobalt 60, 5+ years. Silicon has some isotopes with a half life of over 100 years, which is why, I think, Trinitite is still making the Geiger tick.

If you go to Sedan crater (1962)in the test range, there is still easily measurable radioactivity. there are tours but they confiscate radiation measuring equipment. It took six or seven months of cool-down before people could enter the crater.

True, MOST of the isotopes are short-lived, but after a year, the long lives dominate.

As for neutron bombs, the one we used to field had an explosive yield of about a kiloton, 280 times larger than Timmy McVeigh’s ANFO bomb. They are not too kind to buildings. They were designed to kill men in tanks since neutrons go through steel like it’s a window but have a short range in air.

Seismic readings indicate 45KT.

Decent for a fission bomb. Very unlikely to be a hydrogen bomb.

The last one registered 5.1 and had an estimated yield of 8KT or so. If this was a hydrogen bomb it was a dud.

I thought their first one was around 5 kilotons. Our first one was around 20. We just got better from there.
