Since President Obama has taken office, the length of the executive orders he has issued now exceeds the length of the executive orders issued by former presidents George W. Bush and Bill Clinton, according to a count from the Federal Register.
Additionally, the executive orders that President Obama has issued includes more restrictive language than previous administrations.
In January 2014, President Obama emphasized in a Cabinet meeting that he would not just sit idle and wait for Congress to introduce legislation.
"I've got a pen and Iâve got a phoneâand I can use that pen to sign executive orders and take executive actions and administrative actions that move the ball forward," Obama said.
In President Obama's first seven years in office, he issued 229 executive orders, which add up to a total length of 1,086 pages. While Obama has issued fewer executive orders than Bush, who issued 292, and Clinton, who issued 308, the length of their executive orders were less than Obamaâs, with Bushâs at 922 pages and Clinton's at 781 pages.
"Not all executive orders are created equal," states John Hudak of the Brookings Institution. "Some are quite forceful, making dramatic changes to policy. Others are more routine, housekeeping issues."

ObamaCare Extended To Policing Gun Ownership

“If you like your gun, you can keep your gun” is definitely not anything you’ll be hearing from President Obama soon.
You may never have thought that a simple visit to the doctor could lead to the FBI breathing down your neck, but the president’s new executive actions on gun control could lead to just that, mortally wounding the long-established presumption of doctor-patient confidentiality.
Obama’s directives apparently trump long-standing federal rules preventing doctors from disclosing mental health matters. Now the executive branch will “expressly permit certain HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996) covered entities to disclose to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) the identities of individuals who are subject to a Federal ‘mental health prohibitor’ that disqualifies them from shipping, transporting, possessing or receiving a firearm.”
Currently, if a doctor discloses a patient’s private information without that patient’s authorization, the physician could be sued for malpractice or invasion of privacy. The president now apparently wants violating that confidential bond to be treated as an act that promotes public safety.
And the question of “mental health” is entirely subjective. If you tell your doctor you woke up Monday morning feeling like killing yourself, or that your spouse made you mad enough to reach for your hunting rifle, will that warrant a call to the FBI? Will a federal SWAT team then pounce, just in case you have a gun or two in the house? Such law enforcement overreach is by no means an outlandish scenario.
The ObamaCare database, it turns out, was only the beginning of this administration’s violations of the medical privacy of Americans. Now doctors are set to be enlisted in the nation’s federal gun police.

For those who have forgotten... EOs apply to the Executive Branch. He can make rules all he wants for those under his authority. That isn’t you and me. He doesn’t make law with the stroke of a pen.

Obamacare was legislation passed by the Congress genius not an illegal EO.
What further point did you have in mind? Back when we had presidents who at least pretended to follow the law, they acknowledged the limits of their authority. For example, LBJ wanted to proclaim civil rights legislation rather than giving credit to the Republicans in Congress pushing the law. He was only able to affect agencies of the Executive Branch directly and those who wanted to do business with the Executive Branch indirectly through EO 11246. This EO established requirements for non-discriminatory practices in hiring and employment on the part of government contractors with 51 or more employees.
JFK signed EO 10988 to allow federal workers to join in collective bargaining.
Well, it DOES take more verbiage to obscure and usurp the Rights, Liberty and Freedom of the People when the Executive branch creates out of whole cloth.
I mean, it’s not like Congress writes/reads/debates THEIR bills before voting them into ‘law’...contrary the Constitution in 99.9% of the time.
