Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump's new television ad shows footage of dozens of people crossing a fence as the narrator mentions the U.S.'s "southern border" with Mexico.
The footage, however, is actually of Moroccans crossing the border into Melilla, one of two enclaves on the Moroccan coast held by Spain, according to Politifact
The narrator says the billionaire will "stop illegal immigration by building a wall on our southern border that Mexico will pay for," as the footage plays.
Politifact traced the images to an Italian television network, Repubblica TV, which posted the video on May 3, 2014. About 800 migrants tried to cross the Moroccan border on May 1, according to the network.
The network's logo and the 2014 timestamp were erased from the footage in Trump's ad.
Hope Hicks, a spokeswoman for Trump, told Politifact that she did not know the source of the video and that she does not speak for the production company that made the ad.
A campaign manager for Trump, though, defended the use of the footage, according to NBC reporter Katy Tur.
"No shit it's not the Mexican border but that's what our country is going to look like if we don't do anything," Tur tweeted Trump's campaign manager as saying.
Politifact rated the claim, based on the footage from Morocco, that Mexicans are swarming over "our southern border" as "Pants on fire."
You’re just laughable, at this point. LOL

Whoops, that is gonna leave a mark....
Walker never suggested building a wall on the border with Canada - but you go ahead and quote those Madison sources and Democratic talking points and we’ll see if that covers up Donald Trump’s boo-boo.
I’m not for Trump, but anyone who has produced video can tell you that pictures are usually just visuals. As on the radio where the commercial “interviews” are usually dramatized, the visuals on video can be dramatized or just representative. It does not mean the facts are false. A producer is often scrambling to fit a visual into every slot. So they pick a picture of migrants somewhere else. It still gets the message across and is not false unless the facts presented are false. Are they? I don’t think so.
A commercial is not a court case. You do not have to be legalistic about it. That kid “Mikey” and his bothers who ate Life Cereal probably WERE NOT EVEN BROTHERS. Shocking, I know. It is just representative of an idea. In commercials for politicians, it is wise to be as precise with your visuals as possible. In this case I doubt they could find precise visuals to match the words. It is the words that matter.
What is really bad and should be banned is the dramatization of “victims” paraded out by the left in an effort to sell their big government programs. It should be illegal to fake those presentations.
“No shit it’s not the Mexican border but that’s what our country is going to look like if we don’t do anything,” Tur tweeted Trump’s campaign manager as saying.
Can’t be more clear, than that.
We’ve see what’s happening in Europe, and what had come across our own southern border.
Go Trump!!! Keep America safe!!
Trump is spending $ 2 million a week and the footage is from Morraco Spain ?
What ? These ads made in China ?
Hey....I’ve seen that blue sweater somewhere else, today, haven’t I??
Illegal border jumpers are illegal border jumpers no matter where they are.
They’re not laughing at me nopardons, the laugh is on Trump’s campaign.
I wonder whose head is going to roll.

Heh heh. No.
It’s a pathetic nit-pick.
Are you now relegated to grasping for straws?
Illegal migrants are illegals no matter if from Mexico border, or Morocco or Timbuktu border. All are un-vetted and unknown quantity. No one knows if they bring diseases, weapons or dope.
No Walker never wanted any walls, In fact he wanted more immigrants. Shame on you for backing such an un-American candidate. If you want to deny it, I have plenty of articles I can send to you.
What?
They don’t even understand what the ad is about. That’s really stupid!
“A lie is a lie is a lie...and a misrepresentation is a lie. “
Sooooooo, what was the “lie” again?
Do you want our southern border to turn into the European open borders all-come-in-free zone??
I think this is a great reminder/warning.
No girl was actually nuked in the above picture either!
