How Trump can push back against GOP elites

Here is an idea for an effective way for Donald Trump to push back against the Republican establishment.

Trump should simply announce that any member of Congress who voted against the omnibus bill has his support for re-election, and he should invite those individuals to appear with him at campaign appearances or otherwise provide similar access for them.

Conversely, he should announce that any challenger to an incumbent member of Congress who voted for the omnibus bill has his support and access.

This could effectively have a chilling impact on the donor class that controls the Republican Party and seems hell-bent on destroying Trump. At the least it would raise the price tag for them to continue to control the members of Congress like puppets.

Probably not a bad idea - would show how many are 'closet establishment" to help the People get a better grasp on the real picture.

Of course, Trump doesn't seem to need a lot of advice on how to run an effective campaign...

I think that’s a bad idea.

ONce Trump wins, he has to unite the republican party, the good and the bad and the ugly. If there are incumbents primaried then he can weigh in, but after he wins, he must bring us all together, and I think he will do that.

I dunno, I kinda prefer the *Remove and Replace* RINO removal agenda.

I can see both sides of it - but, I believe that the only way to "b ring the Republican Party together is to demonstrate that there are far too many that are faux-conservatives and make them pay the price.

Cruz alienated many in the "Republican Party" by calling them out for their lies and subterfuge - the establishment folks hate him for that but it needs to be done - the next President needs to use the Bully Pulpit to keep the pressure on those that claim one thing to get reelected and then revert to being the best dang friends the Democrats ever had. Many ways to look at anything that comes about but we need to find a way that works - playing nice has been a losing stratergy...

Ostracize the bad and the ugly and get the People united - that might be the one thing that hasn't been fully attempted.

I agree with you, but nothing succeeds like success. I think Trump will bring these people to his side.

Republicans by nature are more conservative than the democrats, but they’re by in large cowards. People like Ryan, McCain and the others don’t have the courage to stand behind their beliefs. They want to get along, to get re-elected.

REagan made us proud to be American, proud of our party, proud to be conservative.

Trump will do that also.

Hey, I’m a pretty much middle of the road guy. I’m a doctor. I’m not some wacko. Why then am I fanatically behind Trump, and have been? I’m committed here.

I think that is the important polling question, and from what I hear, most of Trump’s people are committed. They’re not going to change their minds.

Can’t argue with any of that.

I am so of two minds about Trump. As I have made clear, I can’t stand him, think he’s a clown, and he’ll get slaughtered in the General. And to think he’s anything close to Conservative is amusing.

BUT .... what I think is SO much more important is the decimation of the GOPe. We will never, ever advance Conservatism without a wholesale change, from top to bottom, of the GOP. And THAT is what I think Trump brings to the table.

A good idea but I find it funny to think this author assumes Trump needs assistance in pushing back against the elites. He’s the most effective at that I’ve ever seen!
