A 4.2 magnitude earthquake struck north Oklahoma City early on New Year's Day, the latest in a series of temblors in the area in recent days that's prompted state regulators to call for more restrictions on oil and gas operators.
No injuries and only minor damage were reported with the quake, which struck at 5:39 a.m. Friday near Edmond, about 16 miles northeast of Oklahoma City, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. ...

Liberals say the earthquakes are caused by fracking. Has anyone not pushing global warming or environmentalism ever said that this is caused by the fracking??
Love that “....calls for more restrictions....”
Upon what Gore-level “science” are those calls based?
Journalists and politicians should really keep out of stuff that there is not possibility of them gaining even an elementary understanding. After all, that is why they are journalists and politicians.
I am not saying that the drilling is not a possible cause....only that I do not believe there is anything even close to high school science level that points to it yet.
SO WHICH IS IT, Climate Change of Fracking???
Oh, the Humanatees!
It’s caused by the incessant prattle of Climate Change alarmists.
Truth be told, there is a series of fault lines in this area.
The earth is ever changing.
OK is getting the tremblors that would have occurred anyway--over with.
Better call Bert Gummer.
Maybe it is Tremors and the worms are getting restless.

Do earthquakes occur in this number in other places where they are fracking?
No. It’s perfectly quiet in locations with no fault lines.
Pimples come up in different places on a teen’s face. Is there any chance a volcano might begin to form in a different spot on this earth where there never has been one?
Wake me up when the quakes hit 7. Actually, the quake will wake me up. Until then, stop complaining and enjoy cheap oil... thanks to FRACKING!
seems to me the rockies were created by the shifting plates, this just seems to be more of the same....or glowbull weather change and el nino kicking in.
I suppose that Mount Vesuvius erupted because all of those evil Romans used fracking and I guess that the warm period was caused by all of those people in the middle ages driving their SUV carriages around.
And yet, NW and SE New Mexico where fracking has been going on for seventy years are still stable.
Oklahoma earthquakes are not new.

there is ZERO to connect fracking/oil drilling to earthquakes!
where does the most Fracking occur in the US?
IT AINT OKLAHOMA!!
