Hillary Clinton’s State Department kept tabs on the Drudge Report, new emails released Thursday reveal.
In an April 2012 email, then-Assistant Secretary of State for Public Affairs Michael Hammer alerted then-Chief of Staff to Hillary Clinton Cheryl Mills about a story “running on Drudge.â€

The story was about a USAID program using federal dollars to train individuals for English-speaking jobs. The headline on the Drudge Report read, “Fed Gov’t Training Foreign Workers for English-Speaking Jobs.â€
Mills forwarded Hammer’s email, which included a press guidance and draft statement, to Clinton as an “Fyi.â€
In another email, this one from Dec. 2011, Hammer alerted Mills to a story “playing on Drudge.â€

It would appear that the State Department’s budget is too large.
Seems the headline is rather misleading. They noted a story in Drudge which hadn’t been picked up by the MSM yet. They were getting ready for blow-back on the story. I don’t see anything wrong with them getting ready. That’s hardly “keeping tabs” on Drudge.
What’s wrong is the original US government program to train non-citizens the English language to win jobs.
All top dems, public, private and political check FR and Drudge every day. And that includes the White House.
So isn’t Drudge meant to be read?

State is high on the list to be abolished and then reconstituted with new, real Americans.

And, Mills job was to keep Hillary propped up and awake enough to hear about breaking news and current events, right?
I don’t get it. (Besides the good sense several people have posted above.) Why do so many people think that Drudge is some sort of great pundit or newsmaker?...
It isn’t like Drudge actually does any reporting himself anymore, or writes commentary or allows us peasants to make our subversive commentaries on his sites.... He just post links to stuff other people have written or said. About the only ‘commentary’ Drudge does is to occasionally post an unflattering photo to illustrate an article title.
If anything, Were I some leftist and/or corrupt politician going to ‘keep tabs’ on my enemies, I’d be doing at FR, Hot Air, Lucianne, Breitbart etc.
Drudge had the stories on spying on the Israelis and the H1B, 34 million green card scam coming up against American citizen graduates, (along with many other stories like these), that got nixed by day’s end.
He gets ‘the call,’ too.
The problem with this is if one of these “students”
that were taught english to allow them to immigrate
were terrorists.
