PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- Philadelphia Mayor-elect Jim Kenney bristles at the label "progressive."
"How about fairness?" he said in a recent interview. "When you know something's unfair, it's unfair. There are certain things that you have to acknowledge are the case and then work to fix them."
Jim Kenney is not African-American but few white politicians are as comfortable discussing issues of inequality, mass incarceration and policing. The 57-year-old Irish-American, South Philly native's positions have earned him comparisons with New York Mayor Bill de Blasio.

so liberals have abandoned the term “liberal” and perhaps want to abandon the term “progressive”.
So he says what about fairness. Sounds like he would be on all the liberal bandwagons about equality for homosexuals, equality for women’s pay, equality for black lives matter people, etc. To be “fair”, is just another way of pushing liberal causes. Anyone else agree?
Liberals love to massage words to make themselves palatable.

Oddly, I have never been stopped and frisked, either. But I don't think it's because I am white. I have never walked down the center of the street, blocking traffic, carrying a $48.99 box of Swisher Sweets cigars after performing a strong arm robbery of a convenience store. Even as an old white guy, I wouldn't be surprised that if I did, I would be. The main reason I've never been frisked is that I've never given the police reason to suspect me of committing a felony.
Kenney sure sounds like a liberal. Considering Philly, I give him 3 years, max, before being indicted.

Well, there is Donald Trump. And I did check and the last time that Philly elected a Republican mayor was 1948. The fact that Philly elected a white guy to something -- even a liberal Democrat - might be a sign of a drift to the right. It's all relative.

It is what works. The so-called “privilege” is available to anyone who wants it.
A Brookings Institution(liberal think tank) study showed that if you followed the above plan, 98% were able to escape poverty and move into the middle class.
