No, they were quite viable till maybe mid-1941.
Most German tanks till mid 41 were worse in most ways.

Those things were obsolete in 1938.

The best time to have a tank is when the other guy does not. Under those circumstances, any tank will work.

I am sure Paraguay’s view on it is it works just fine against its own citizens and other third world creatures.

I’m sure they don’t think they’re going to hold back an invasion from a real army.

True, but if you replace the M3 gun with the M256 120mm smoothbore gun and explosive reactive armor you would have an effective tank!

They would loved to have had them in early 1930s for the Chaco conflict

But considering the first Stuart or Sherman tanks didn’t hit the ground till 1941.....

It would have been hard in early or even late 30s
