Another Key Evangelical Faith Leader Endorses Ted Cruz
Conservative HQ ^ | 12/30/2015 | CHQ Staff

Bishop E.W. Jackson, one of Virginia's most well-known African-American pastors, and the Republican Party's 2013 nominee for Lt. Governor has endorsed Senator Ted Cruz for President.

In making the endorsement Bishop Jackson said, "It is absolutely essential and urgent that we elect a Godly President who reveres our Constitution, honors our Judeo-Christian values and respects the freedom of the American people. After eight years of 'fundamental transformation,' we need a leader who will dedicate himself to restoring the fundamentals of America. I urge every American, but especially Christians, to elect Ted Cruz as the next President of the United States."

EW JacksonBishop Jackson went on to note that when he announced Project AWAKENING, a comprehensive private sector plan to help rescue America's inner cities from poverty and crime, he reached out to several presidential campaigns and only one responded.

Senator Ted Cruz demonstrated his support for this private sector initiative by sending his National Director for Faith and Religious Liberty to the press conference to speak in his stead. "This is exactly the kind of initiative that is needed for this country to help resolve the problems in the inner city and throughout our country," the Bishop said, "I know that if Senator Cruz were to become President of this country... he'd work with Bishop Jackson and other ministers like [him] to help create an environment where these kind[s] of faith and business sector solutions can be implemented."

Bishop Jackson further stated, "Senator Cruz knows that 'central planning' by Washington elites will never match the ingenuity and effectiveness of free market capitalism working hand-in-hand with people of faith to restore cultural values and bring prosperity to the most needy people in our country."

"We need a President committed to ending the cycle of poverty, violence and despair in the inner city, by marshaling the goodwill and resources of the private sector - churches, businesses, nonprofits and private schools. We do not need more government programs which only perpetuate poverty and dependence. People need a ladder out of poverty instead of a government sinkhole that keeps them mired in it. Our inner cities need to be places where law abiding citizens can raise their children, provide them with a good education and not have to live in fear of being murdered in street violence. Ted Cruz will be a President who casts that kind of vision and leadership. He has my enthusiastic endorsement."

Senator Cruz's support for this type of comprehensive private sector solution became the final consideration in Bishop E.W. Jackson's decision to officially endorse Senator Cruz for President.

Bishop E.W. Jackson said in conclusion, "I want every Christian in America to know, especially in Iowa where they will caucus in little more than a month, that Ted Cruz is a man of God. Like George Washington, Abraham Lincoln and Ronald Reagan, his faith is authentic, not political expedience. Faith in Jesus Christ has been central to his life, long before he ever ran for office. I have no doubt that he will defend our religious liberty, our Second Amendment rights and our right to be free from unlawful government intrusion and control. I urge fellow evangelicals in Iowa to go to the caucuses and vote for Cruz.

It’ sad that Virginians are so liberal that they rejected Cuccinelli and Jackson. There should have been no doubt with those two candidates. They need to go back to the days of the Byrd machine there; nothing else seemed to work for long.

Cuchinelli’s problem was that he was fighting against a well-connected Democrat without help from the RNC.

Amazing what can come from a day or so at the Payoff Ranch of big money donors and private, behind closed door meetings.

Trump is beholden to nobody, because of his yuge wealth. Immanuel Trump, God With Us. Beyond reproach because he’s rich. And he has lots of money, and therefore can’t be bought. Because of his great wealth.

He’s right. We need a leader who is dedicated to restoring the fundamentals of America.

And you do that by starting with securing the borders and stopping the flow of hostile and culturally inassimilable immigrants into the country.

Which only Donald Trump is really committed to doing.

Our friend Trump donated to his opponent
Donald Trump is just one of many big name donors funding Terry McAuliffe’s campaign to win the Virginia governor’s mansion this fall, according to newly released financial disclosure reports — and he isn’t even among the most generous givers.

I guess he didn’t get the memo that Cubans can’t be evangelicals.

Your gif is hilarious! It is the Trump Express leaving the station, contrary to pundit opinions it still hasn’t gone off its rails, but then he just switched to right track a little while ago.

we get it he’s a good Christian who makes sure you know it everyday(GW Bush was one, Huckabee is one,Santorum is one) now lets move on to what kind of leadership qualities he has and how he’s going to go to Washington with a huge national mandate to dismantle the corrupt system of both parties..

Looking at the polls there is only one Republican who has caught fire with the primary voters that they see as a strong leader who will do just that. Plus IMHO when Cruz speaks it’s like listening to fingernails scratching a chalkboard and then to top it all off he’s just boring to listen to.. he doesn’t inspire people.. he’s just not a guy who is going to light a Presidential campaign on fire.. it’s going to take a very strong in your face guy to beat down the media attacks and the left wingers.. that’s not Cruz

I could probably be called an evangelical and his endorsement means nothing to me. I am also Southern Baptist and whatever stupidity Russell Moore comes out with is just his stupidity.

We get it, you don’t like real Christians, real conservatives or real constitutional positions. That is your right, but only because real Christian, constitutional conservatives defended it. Yeah hearing all that liberty talk is like finger nails on the chalk board, what we really need is someone to will say to a woman you got horse face, to his dissenters you are stupid and those who ask about his convictions, dummy - yea, that’s the ticket!

I don’t like to mix religion and politics.. I don’t like politicians who wear their religion on their sleeve.. never have.. I like to know my President believes in God and will preserve our religious rights but I don’t want him running on his religion... Jimmy Carter did that and he got elected because of it and look what we got

“I like to know my President believes in God and will preserve our religious rights but I don’t want him running on his religion...”

According to Reagan’s intimates, Reagan was a committed Christian. He did not use it for a campaign boost.

We got an idiot apostate who did not understand biblical-ethics and hated God's law. That is exactly why religious convictions and understanding matter and not just associations.

btw it’s Cruz’s nasally voice that’s like listening to fingernails on the chalkboard not the words.. .. I’ll surely vote for him if he’s the nominee but he is boring to listen to for the average voter that’s going to vote next November

btw can Trump expect your vote next November if he is the nominee like we will for Cruz if he is?.. Or does that only go one way?
