Country singer Craig Strickland is missing just days after a friend posted an ominous tweet that foreshadowed their disappearance.
"In case we don't come back, @BackroadCRAIG and I are going right through Winter Storm Goliath to kill ducks in Oklahoma. #IntoTheStorm," Chase Morland, who was on the road with Strickland, tweeted late Saturday.

On Monday, Backroad Anthem, the band that Strickland sings in, revealed that Morland had been found dead.
"Everyone please say special prayers for the family of Chase Morland," they wrote on Facebook. "They were very close friends and it is such a heartbreaking loss. Randy Strickland (Craig's father) has informed us Craig has not been found. Please keep praying for his safety."

Strickland is/was a fast rising young Country Star with the band Backroad Anthem.
My daughter follows this bad, and he is/was a well-known participant in celebrity outdoorsman hunting/fishing events.
This article is hard to decypher.
Craig Strickland and Chase Moreland were going duck hunting.
They were apparently heading into the Blizzard.
The last communication was from Craig who tweeted:
“In case we don’t come back, @BackroadCRAIG and I are going right through Winter Storm Goliath to kill ducks in Oklahoma. ð
#IntoTheStorm”
Chase Moreland has been found dead. Craig Strickland has not been found.
It appears that the young men made a significant error in judgment.

I remember when I thought I was bullet-proof, too. Trying to surf a hurricane with some other nutty guys made me have a serious change of heart. But it makes for s great reunion story.
I have some stories of escapades that could have ended very badly, too.
Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day.
Teach a man to fish and he will eat forever.
Fish a man out of the water and chances are his fishing days are over.
Extremely short on details.....
Information I've heard was Morland was found along with their overturned boat.........
I can see it happening...The only time I went duck hunting, I was in a wide, flat back canoe with motor and as I was dropping the decoys, the canoe flipped and into the water I went. Fortunately it was only waist deep........
If the guys were in full hunting gear, it probably included waders and if that was the case, if you're in deep water and your waders fill, you're dead........
Haven't we all. I proved it as a 2nd LT, i.e. butterbars are real dumb$hits. How I didn't get shot by a suddenly awakened soldier on guard duty is a real headscratcher.
Yes. The boat did not have flotation devices, but if they were wearing waders, it would not have mattered.
The dog was found alive.
“Who goes there?”
“Don’t worry, it’s just us!”
“Wrong answer!” *blank rounds*
Our XO loved AT with us.
LOL - yeah, I was convinced by my butterbar across-the-street neighbor at Cannon AFB that rappelling off the water tower was a great idea. I was an O3 at the time, but the moral equivalent of an O1 since JAGs come in as O2s with credit for law school and passing the bar. If we don’t intentionally or unintentionally kill somebody within our first six months, they give us railroad tracks.

In the Canadian infantry we had 30 seconds after being woken up where we couldn’t be charged for our actions. If you didn’t like someone you had a few seconds to get a beating in heh.
I never employed that method, I just let guys know I was coming for them and followed through. I could never stand bullies and still can’t.
When I was teaching unarmed combat, you’d be surprised how many former jerks turned into saints heh.
These band members sound like they made a serious error in judgement. I often drive into extreme weather, but I have the tires and experience and other equipment for it.
It’s often best to simply avoid it. Some things just aren’t worth dying for.
This was in 77-78, right after the start of the all volunteer force. I was with the same battalion for four years. A big reason why we went from C-3 to C-1 was due to the Battalion Commander pushing us to push poor performers out of the service (Chapter 13 discharges). Roughly 10% of the battalion, over 60 soldiers, were separated from the service.
Ya, poor performers need to go. Unfortunately, there are a lot who join from maritime provinces who are looking for a steady paycheck without having to do much. It falls on the men from the West to make it work.
Falling asleep on guard duty was a big no go too. If we caught those guys, they’d receive a beating so severe they’d be on light duties for weeks. If you caught them a second time, it was a discharge.
Men rely on their peers to keep them safe so they can sleep. I never assigned guard duty as punishment. I only wanted the most motivated and trusted men standing watch over their brothers. Fierce warriors that not even the devil himself would dare face. 2PPCLI has a certain reputation and we upheld it heh. There’s a reason we were sent in first in almost every conflict since 1914.
I believe soon, our 49th parallel border won’t matter soon because we’ll be up against a different enemy. It’s going to be tyranny vs freedom, and that won’t be confined to just one area.
They’ll have their LAVIII’s, their helos and fast movers, with drones, Leopards and Abrams, and whatever men will follow their evil desires, but we have a desire for freedom so strong that it won’t easily be extinguished.
If that doesn’t happen, then that means we’ve allowed them to take over without a shot.
#IntoTheStorm. Prayers but stupid is as stupid does. Now they’ve put search and rescue in danger with the freezing weather. At least the dog is fine.

Sad. Reminds us of the two florida boys that were lost at sea this year. In both cases, the boys disregarded storm warnings, the OK instance knowingly.
A friend of mine told the story of getting swamped in a duck boat. His buddy was able to swim to shore. My friend spent the night on a dead tree sticking up out of the lake until help came the next day. Yes - they did lose their guns in a boating accident.
