Priebus: GOP Faces 'Tough Time' Holding Senate(Already throwing in the towel without a fight)

Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus said that the GOP might have a "tough" time holding on to its majority in the Senate in next year's elections but that he was confident that the party would hold onto Congress.

"The Senate is important," Priebus told John Catsimatidis on "The Cats Roundtable" on New York's AM-970. "It's very critical and it's always tough to hold the Senate, but I think we're doing everything we can do to that."

Priebus' interview, which will air Sunday, was reported by The Hill.

Democrats lost the Senate in the 2014 midterm elections — and the party will have to defend only 10 seats next fall. By contrast, the Republicans will have 24 seats up for grabs, according to the Hill.

Priebus said that he believed Republicans will beat Democrats in several battleground states, including Ohio, Illinois and Florida.

"Our candidates are good in the battleground states that they're in, and that's the key — having candidates that are in tune with their states and that are unique to their states so you can win in a tough environment, you win in a presidential year, which is always harder because when turnout is through the roof, it's always a little bit more unpredictable," he told Catsimatidis.

Another “threat” ..... losing the Senate if we don’t go along with GOPe candidates.

My word to GOPe .... tough. Shut up, roll up your sleeves and get to work. I’ll take my chances with a non-establishment candidate - you’ve had many, many chances and blown it every time so don’t come whining to me and expect me to eat yet another cr@p sandwich.

They could have held the senate easily if McConnel had decided to fight. Alas, re-establishing “Regular Order” was more important to him than the nation. Hey pubbie elites... It is all your fault!

It is going to be tough to hold the Senate. Probably half of the repubs up for re-election may get primarried.

Bill Frist was a hell of a lot better than McConnel.

Translation:
“Give us more money so we’ll have enough RINOs in the Senate to block Trump/Cruz!”

They might have a tough time holding the RINO senate. But I think the conservatives will dominate much to the GOPe chagrin. The landslide created by Trump or Cruz will carry them in on their coat tails.

Simply unbelievable.

Then Trump wants to fight like hell and he is the bad guy. Simply staggering.

So Reince, stop spending all your time and effort defeating conservative insurgents in the primaries so you can preserve your GOPe house of senile lords.

Concur with you completely.
Reince Priebus, the GOPe, and the RNC are all utterly useless to me.
At least the Democrats are openly my political opposition!

One wonders what possible difference it would make to Priebus if he lost control of the Senate or House.

The RNC has done absolutely nothing with the majority the voters gave them. He has one of the largest Republican majorities on record and they’ve done nothing with it except cave to Obama over and over.

Good.

They deserve to lose it and the house as well.

“Funny, we have the Senate now, but then again we don’t do we? If we lost the Senate, how would we be able to tell other than the name of the majority leader?”

The “we” you refer to is not conservatives.

Getting Wisconsin GOPe to run the House and the RNC is the problem.

With few exceptions, conservative leadership must come from the South.

When is the GOP going to ditch Prancing Preibus?

He is the worst face anyone could put on the Republican Party.

The big difference would be all the bills that get past cloture for a full vote. The Democrats don’t mind tying up legislation they don’t like, the Republicans will give the Democrats enough votes to get bad legislation to the floor and then vote against it to prove they are “conservative.”

Priebus sees Trump or Cruz winning and is already setting up the UNIPARTY to trip them up if elected.

Dirty rotten bastard.
