It is no secret that the mainstream media might as well be on the DNC’s payroll. Major scandals involving Democrats go unremarked. When they are remarked upon, often the political affiliation is buried deep in the story if mentioned at all. I’m not talking only about the editorial pages, the devotion of the media to Democrats infests the actual news gathering function of newspapers, magazines, and online media. One of the most pernicious things to be contrived by the media is the “fact checking†charade.
It started out with a simple premise: the media would check statements made by various political figures and rate them on truthfulness. And who to better do this than people allied with the Democrat party who have a degree in journalism?
Today at POLITICO, Jack Shafer is bemoaning the fact that liberal shills calling politicians they dislike liars has no discernable impact.
What to conclude from this? Perhaps that the fact-checkers don’t know what they’re writing about—which I reject—or that Trump supporters don’t know about the fact-checker’s findings, which seems wildly unlikely given the saturation coverage his lies have enjoyed. My guess is that Trump supporters don’t believe and just don’t care what the fact checkers say.

So should the fact checkers abandon their Pinocchios and trash their Pants on Fire meters and let the lying liars lie? Of course not! The truth matters! But campaign 2016 teaches us that the truth matters in politics less than any of us ever believed. Just ask the fact-checkers. And Donald Trump.

They don’t even try to hide it anymore.

Also let us not forget 2008 when Obama was running for office Politifact rated his “keep your doctor” claim as True. When Obama was re-elected and the parts of the plan that made people lose their doctors went into effect they rated the same claim as “the lie of the year” for 2013....no apology given for getting it wrong back when the voters could have used that information....

I think every "fact checker" should be required to include a userid (for their protection) and their political affiliation with every post. Like that's going to happen.
If it's the case with a Republican statement they usually label it false.
If it is the case with a dim's statement they graduate the opinion to mostly true, partially true etc.
Whenever I go there I look at the verdict first before deciding to read the details. It saves time.

As many here know, I wrote Harry Reid’s only bio. My book was blackballed. I have continued researching and now there is such a pile of fraud uncovered that some have begun to notice. I just uncovered a big FEC coverup from 2002 that could have blown Reid out of the water.
Why does this matter now, if Reid is leaving the Senate? Because I have traced his orc army of aids up through the funding channels to an ongoing super-PAC, Reid’s Golden Parachute. The cancer goes back to funding by mafia pimps and titty bar owners but will continue far into the future if not stopped. Unbelievable level of corruption.

I think they started out with a certain amount of altruism but were influenced by the darkside. Now they’re just a joke.
A few years ago, a liberal friend of mine posted a fact check where they checked the truth of a statement about Obama spending more money than all the Presidents from Washington to Bush combined.
They simply went back to the last Bush budget (2006) and said that it would be impossible because the amount Bush spent was too high and called it a lie.
Of course, the actual statement was Obama had outspent every president from George Washington (who took over in 1789) to George Bush (who took over in 1989).
With this kind of sloppiness, I no longer believe anything I see on Politifact.

Snopes is staffed by two people. One is a web designer and the other is his (house)wife. I regard Snopes not so much as a fact checking site, but a Democrat narrative building site.
So the ‘fact checkers’ are complaining because we don’t believe them, and they think that means people are OK with lying?
