The way I see the last several decades, whenever the Stupid Party wastes effort on class, dignity, and manners, the Evil Party rams it right up their hineys.
There are things that are so bad that one has a moral duty to say terrible things about them at every opportunity. Liberalism is one of those things. That duty is more important than class, dignity, or manners.
It is long past time for decent people to wake up and realize that when dealing with scumbags, civility is nothing but a self-imposed handicap.
After a hundred million innocent dead in the twentieth century, no liberal is entitled to the slightest consideration, courtesy, or civility. Liberals should be reviled, abominated, spat upon, even beaten, whenever they have the gall to show their faces in the presence of decent people.
We act wrongly when we pretend that liberals have a right to a voice in human affairs. We act wrongly when we fail to excoriate them for the horrors they have wrought, and those they still lust to wreak.
When a human being appears in public with a liberal, at a political debate, for instance, he should preface his remarks with a statement to the effect that the proximity of the liberal is causing his gorge to rise and his flesh to crawl.
It is not humanly possible to say anything sufficiently critical and insulting about liberals and liberalism. Indictment, trial, conviction, sentencing, and execution would be insufficient punishment for their crimes against humanity.
Human beings arise! Computer science will allow a tyranny so complete and horrible that it has yet to be imagined, unless these loathsome swine are stopped.

My husband, a Bronx boy, says it was used in his youth. At Catholic school during sports.
I heard about that too. Still I’ve heard it used in any other way than sexual.

And the media keeps falling for it.
Trump’s pattern:
1. Say something ‘controversial’
2. Get free publicity for weeks
3. The stories finally turn around to Trump was right (schlong, illegals committing crimes) or people agree with Trump (deportation, Muslim moratorium), or nobody really cares about the details but like Trump’s assertiveness and direction (thousands of Muslims celebrating, McCain).
4. A few mire days of free publicity and polls go up.
The media is addicted-they can’t stop themselves from falling for it over and over.
Political correctness is not class or dignity.
Political correctness is destroying the country, our economy has hit the skids, we are last on the international math and science tests, Congress is corrupt and funds letting in criminals and terrorists - and Trump’s tone and word choice is a problem?

Back in 1775 when the British were evicting people from their homes, consuming their supplies and raping their wives, men with class, dignity and manners prepared to meet in Philadelphia to change the governance of the land. It was men who believed in liberty not expediency that formed the nation and threw off the chains of tyranny and they did it forcefully and with dignity befitting the birth of great nation under God.
When ruffians, brutes and bosses rise to power they do not bring the blessings of liberty. They speak with course language and react without deeper thought and guiding philosophical principles. They are able to rouse a crowd they are unable to bring the blessing of liberty that spans generations.
Yes language, manners and tone matter. One can be resolute and not sound illiterate. It is not enough to beat Hillary or to change direction, the direction the nation is lead matters. I for one want liberty. I wonder if many of Trump's supporters would be happier just giving out a few black eyes and then running the new crime syndicate a new more profitable way.

You need to read more about what happened in Boston in 1775. The colonists were a rough bunch.

Political correctness is a weapon of mass destruction of the Fabian socialists.
So I would say that the "schlonged" phrase is not directly sexual, not is it gender-specific.
