Prosecutors group blasts Obama for releasing drug dealers
The Washington Times ^ | December 22, 2015 | Dave Boyer

A group representing federal prosecutors said Tuesday that President Obama violated his own rules last week when he granted clemency to 91 convicted drug dealers who were released from prison early.

Reflecting deep divisions in the Justice Department, the National Association of Assistant U.S. Attorneys called on the White House and leaders at Justice to release all information involved in the decisions to release the drug dealers, saying the public has a right to know whether a program to free criminals "is prudent, much less necessary."

"Americans need more information than they are getting in order to decide whether now is the time to reverse the strong sentencing policies that, for the last generation, have helped slash crime rates and keep us all safer," the group said in a statement.

Last week, Mr. Obama commuted the sentences of 95 people and pardoned two others. Nearly all of the offenders were convicted of drug-related offenses -- mostly for charges related to possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine...

I noticed the articles I read about 0bama releasing these criminals didn't mention prior arrests, plus dealing drugs is inherently a violent crime.

Notice that the bulk of pardons given by the last few presidents are for drug related crimes.

I wonder if the group B. Obama released include also those who sell black tar heroin, the most addictive drug of all that has caused destruction of communities and has an enormous overdose death rate. It is sold by illegal aliens from Mexico who recruit youngsters and older people. I read that they are under orders to sell only to white people.

President Obama violated his own rules

prosecutors being the lawyers that they are fully understand that legal rules do not apply to politicians or judges. If these prosecutors were to honor their oath of office, they would instead be filing arrest warrants for the obozo and his regime to include their boss, AG Loretta Lynch.

We give life sentences to drug dealers and 20 years to people who kill people. That’s just insane. Cut the dealers loose and keep the killers in prison.

What are the terms of these thugs’ release? That they shoot people at random in an effort to turn more Americans against guns?

I do.

The fact is that we have *way* too many people in jail. We are 5% of the world’s population and we’ve got 25% of the prison population.

And it’s not all drugs. South Carolina conducted two surveys in the last decade and found that at least one out of every eight incarcerated people were there because they had been held in contempt of court for not paying child support.

We also have a return of debtors’ prison. If you have a judgement against you and you can’t afford to pay it (could be a simple fine) you go to jail for contempt of court.

The drug war BS is just as bad. The mandatory minimums end up getting a small-time pot dealer more time than a rapist.

The system is totally broken. All we have for law enforcement is hammers.

What’s worse is that there is no rebuilding your life after a felony. Try joining the military or getting a decent job. Try getting help for college or student loans for trade school. Or a small business loan or buy a house.

Once you pay your debt to society, your debt should be paid.

And I’m not going to justify it with ‘just don’t break the law, dummy.’ The laws are insane. Look at how many people are being swept up for felony gun possession in NJ.

We are on a very, very wrong path for a ‘free’ nation.

“Notice that the bulk of pardons given by the last few presidents are for drug related crimes.”

In this case, we are talking about two pardons.

And just how many murders and deaths do you think are caused by drug dealers?

They are murderers.

That sure makes more sense than releasing drug dealers.

If they actually murdered people, keep them in prison. If the product they sold killed their customers, put them in the same catagory as the people that sell alcohol and cigarettes.
