DENTON (CBSDFW.COM) â Denton Police are investigating a bomb threat to a church.
Police say a representative from Denton Bible Church told police Monday a letter came to the church which included a bomb threat for the Christmas Eve service.
The Police Department is working with church staff in an effort to identify and locate the person or persons who issued the threats.
Pastoral staff and elders of Denton Bible Church advised they will be having the Christmas Eve service. They will also be adding additional security.
This investigation is ongoing.

One of the idiot reporterettes said that the Mass would go forward as scheduled. Not sure who should be more offended - the dispensationalist baptists (small ‘b’) or the Roman Catholics.

I had to look up where "Denton" was.
I have an old friend in Texas whose husband was named "Denton." Now I KNOW the town wasn't named for him. :o)

A Mass of misunderstandings, huh.
I think the bible churchers would be of good humor about it... yes we have a Communion, no it isn’t a Mass.

Ten miles from my hacienda.
Denton Bible is the mega-church around these parts, a very popular and influential place.
And I think anyone trying to attack it would be dead meat...

I graduated from Denton High School in 1974...when there was till only one HS there. There are three now.
I know people at this Church. Good people who will not be cowed by such threats...and they will add more of their own security.
God bless and keep 'em.

The sane folks in both camps will point at the idiotic reporters and erupt in howls of derisive laughter.

About the same distance from mine as well. Where are you located in Denton county? I'm in Krugerville (just south of Aubrey) up US 377 towards Pilot Point.

Exhibit "Z" in the ignorance of modern journalists. Anyone who knows anything about Christianity knows that the only Christian denomination that calls its service a "mass" is the Catholic Church. Even the Eastern Orthodox - who have a similar service - call it "the Divine Liturgy," or some similar name.

I stand corrected; but the point about the difference between Baptists/Catholics is sound. I slightly overreached.
