A super PAC backing Ted Cruz is going up with a new, six-figure digital ad buy targeting voters in the four early-voting primary states, as well as in Mississippi, Georgia and in Alabama, where Cruz just finished a weekend campaign swing.
The minute-long spot, called "Trust," was produced by Keep the Promise I, in collaboration with Keep the Promise PAC, part of a cluster of super PACs supporting the Texas senator's presidential bid. The ad, which features voter testimonials, also takes an oblique swipe at Marco Rubio, a rival Republican presidential candidate with whom Cruz has been increasingly sparring over immigration and national security.
"Who actually has stood up not just to Democrats, but to leaders in our own party?" Cruz says in the spot, clipped from a debate performance. That remark is followed by an image of Rubio's face, as well as that of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell's, both colleagues with whom Cruz has directly clashed.
"He's not afraid to say the honest truth, even from the Senate floor, even if it's unpopular," says one voter.
"He has been consistent on every issue," says another.
The ad, which will appear on Facebook and YouTube, lands just as the Rubio camp has stepped up efforts to call into question Cruz's consistency in his opposition to legalization for undocumented immigrants. Cruz has vigorously pushed back against the suggestion that his position has changed, campaigning this weekend with conservative Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions, an anti-immigration reform hardliner.
The spot will air through the end of the year.
It’s about time they started to do these “spots” to help fight the lies being propagated against him — by VERY despicable liars such as Marco Rubio.
That’s a very effective ad.
Bump for the video link above >>> Trust (produced by Keep the Promise I SuperPAC)
Marco is a disappointment and his lying is not working.
We have before us a real Conservative with brains and guts. Are we smart enough to nominate him? Hope so.
