Tripwire Alert – The Splitter Strategy Now Evolves To Focus on Alliances
Conservative Treehouse ^ | 12/18/15 | Sundance

Posted on 12/19/2015 9:57:43 AM PST by jobim

Marco Rubio, Carly Fiorina, Chris Christie, John Kasich and Mike Huckabee can all be counted on to give their small delegate counts to Jeb Bush later in the race.

However, the non-GOPe candidates Trump, Cruz and possibly Ben Carson are currently polling beyond the GOPe group. Fox Poll Example:

GOPe Collective = 27% (Rubio 11, + Bush 3, + Christie 3, + Fiorina 3, + Paul 3, + Kasich 2, + Huckabee 1, + Santorum 1 = 27)
Non-GOPe Collective = 66% (Trump 39, + Cruz 18, + Carson 9 = 66)
So what we are now seeing is two aspects with specific targeting.

1) Put Marco Rubio against Ted Cruz to pull votes into the GOPe group

2) Advance Chris Christie as a counter to the vulgarian uprising, hoping to pull votes into the GOPe group.

The Chris Christie and Marco Rubio collective approach is “The Alliance Strategy“.

Three goals within the "Alliance Strategy": One goal is to make Christie a palatable alternative to Trump for the Republican voter who will never support Jeb, but is vulnerable to the media influence creating fear of Trump. One goal is to diminish Cruz hoping to push similar voters to Rubio. The last goal is to keep Jeb Bush alive as a viable candidate.

Moving forward watch to see these four fronts play out:

1) The corporate media and GOPe will promote Chris Christie.
2) The corporate media and GOPe will continue pitting Rubio against Cruz.
3) The corporate media and GOPe will continue propping up the viability of Jeb Bush.
4) The corporate media and GOPe will continue attacking Trump with Alinsky tactics: Isolate, Ridicule and Marginalize.

I certainly hope they have more principles than to do that.

I ask myself: They cannot win; they know it. Why are they in the racer? Who is funding
them? That 2nd question answers the first: the superpac $ propping them up is payback
for going along with the splitter strategy. It's a business transaction.

After Iowa these candidates are toast. They will all fall like rocks. Let them plot all they want. It will make no difference.

Well maybe there’s some truth to it, but more evidence points to pitting Cruz against Trump and vice versa to damage both thereby detaching Trump-Cruz voters to Rubio et al.

The jury is still out on whether Cruz is smart enough to see the trap laid for him as he is egged on to attack Trump and to join in the GOPe chorus that “Trump will not be the nominee”. He’s being used and the national media has filled the news space with Cruz this and Cruz that in mostly cautious but positive tones. All that will change on a dime if the GOPe is successful in displacing Trump by using Cruz to attack. Then Cruz will be taken down and caricatured as a modern-day Joe McCarthy (never mind that McCarthy was proven right after KGB records were revealed after the fall of the USSR).

But it looks like it won’t matter because Trump’s appeal continues to grow and convert voters to him. It takes a while for some to see the appeal of Donald, but once they get it, it stays with them. So his support grows even in the face of constant and increasingly outrageous media attacks. Trump’s ‘ceiling’ was 30%, now it’s 40%, next it will be 50%, etc.

GOPe is counting on Trump not reaching a majority of delegates so they can trigger a brokered convention when their superdelegates can tip the scales for their guy.

All Donald has to do is get Cruz (if Cruz plays it smart enough) to steer his delegates to Donald or for Carson to do the same and the game is over for the GOPe. The VP will be either Cruz or Carson.

This will likely happen the day after March 1, 2016, Super Tuesday.

I hope this doesn’t sound too mean, but it must be rough to be born just last night, AND fall off the turnip truck too.

They are all Cheap Labor Express candidates and their principles are dictated by their principals.

They will do exactly that.

Lots of luck with their plans because pictures like this will never go away!

I agree with your points. Rubio was initially part of the get-Florida plan. He was in there
to ensure Bush took Fla by pushing his delegates over to Bush, which would have secured
Bush the nomination. But with Rubio freezing up now, I think you are right in the effort
to pit Cruz against Trump. And what you say about Trump is on the money, and now
pushed full throttle by the Ryan GOPecabal capitulation - a good percentage of the
country is now in full vulgarian-barbarian-over-the-castle-wall-mode.

Quite frankly, in my opinion, this article makes no sense whatsoever, as the splitter strategy helps Trump tremendously by splitting the RINO vote. The worse thing that could happen is for all the RINOs to drop out except one. It behooves Trump to keep as many RINOs as possible in the race until the bitter end.

Delegates are pledged on the first ballot to vote for the candidate for which they were elected as a delegate.

If a candidate withdraws before the first ballot, the candidate’s delegates are free to vote as they please.

Sinilarly, if a candidate withdraws after the first ballot, his delegates are free.

After the first ballot, all delegates may vote as they wish. Candidates cannot pledge their delegates to another candidate.

I think they are talking about before any delegates are awarded. I doubt that any of the <2% crowd will win any delegates but they can drop out and encourage their supporters to vote for whomever.

The author of this piece assured us a few weeks ago that only Trump and Jeb! had viable campaigns, and that the Jeb! campaign in Iowa was ‘where the action is’. Caveat emptor.

This year, I doubt that delegates can be “pledged’ by candidates. Once released, I think it will be like herding cars.
