At a Dec. 4 town hall meeting, Brown gave a speech recounting the days in which Black Panthers armed themselves against the police.

You go arm yourself girlfriend and see what happens. Anyhow how do you pick a side in this fight. It's sorta like ISIS vs Al Qaeda. May they both do each other the maximum amount of harm.

Wonder if Elaine Brown and the Black Panthers have settled up with the family of Betty Van Patter

After serving as a bookkeeper for Ramparts magazine, Van Patter became an aide to Panther leader Elaine Brown in 1974, after being introduced to the Party by David Horowitz.

Van Patter went missing on December 13, 1974. Some weeks later, her severely beaten corpse was found on a San Francisco Bay beach. There was insufficient evidence for police to charge anyone with van Patter’s death but the Black Panther Party was almost universally believed to be responsible, as journalist Frank Browning wrote in 1987. Christopher Hitchens wrote in the Los Angeles Times that: There is no doubt now, and there was precious little then, of the Panther leadership’s complicity in this revolting crime.

Let me get this straight. A community organizer advocating for affordable housing wants $7million for herself after getting into a fight with a democrat councilwoman at a restaurant. Is that about it? Self-serving apparachiks is all i see.

Betty Van Patter’s death was the catalyst that drove Horowitz from supporting the Panthers to becoming one of Conservatism’s most articulate voices.

...she says Brooks punched her, sending her crashing “head over heels” into a stack of folding chairs where she struck her head and became stuck with her feet in the air.

Somebody had to have taken a picture of this. I'm begging that person to come out for our amusement!

“Click the article for pictures of the two. There are two dogs in this fight, and neither of them are mine.”

What does physical appearance have to do with conservative values?

In this blatantly biased story, the presumably iconic, aging Black Panther leader and noble champion of “affordable housing” was “viciously assaulted” and is a “victim” of “elder abuse.” The lapdog reporter makes no attempt to even ASK for a statement from Brooks, who MIGHT POSSIBLY have been defending herself!
The reporter then proceeds to trumpet Brown’s support of recent Bay Area BLM riots, and her continuing calls to off the “pigs.”

From the story, this nugget:

“...the dispute erupted when Brooks threatened to block Brown’s bid for city funding to convert a lot in West Oakland into an urban farm and housing development.”

SO! There you have it!
Former Black Panthe leader Elaine Brown is DEMANDING that taxpayer funds be handed over to HER to build a multi-million dollar housing project, so that Brown, her heirs and assignees can serve as owner/ landlord and pocket MILLIONS in rent (much of which will also be paid with taxpayer subsidies) as long as Brown & co agree to “manage” the development for 25 years, at which time the “loan” from the taxpayers will be “forgiven.”

The mortgagee is discouraged from ever making a single payment on the “loan” (did I mention the taxpayers are the ones granting the “loan”?) because the rules state, that if you make even one payment, you must continue to do so, with market rate interest, until the loan is paid off.
So repaying the taxpayers isn’t smart, cuz then you dont get to keep ALL the free money.
Oh, and at the end of 25 years, you can sell the projects, and you
get to keep THAT money too!
Because that’s how “affordable housing” subsidies work, folks.
We need poor people to fill them up, so working taxpayers can make billionaires out of clever developers.

Brooks may have taken the un-PC stance that Brown doesn’t win the bid just because she’s a Black Panther.
Maybe she refused to take the bribe.
Or maybe they were arguing over the amount of the bribe.
We can’t make any informed decision based on this biased reportage.

Deciding by looking at the pictures? SMH.
