Fox News: ‘Fair and balanced’ — and very tough on Republican front-runners
WASHINGTON POST ^ | December 18, 2015 | Callum Borchers

Posted on 12/18/2015 6:02:20 PM PST by detective

There was a moment in Tuesday's Republican presidential debate when Donald Trump, as is his custom, complained about unfair lines of questioning.

In an interview with Trump less than 24 hours later, Fox News host Bill O'Reilly gave the GOP front-runner another chance to air his grievances with CNN, which broadcast and moderated the rhetorical showdown from Las Vegas.

Compare BOR’s questioning (dismissive, superior, argumentative) of Trump compared to his questioning of Obama (fawning, softballs, butt kissing) in ‘08.

So the definition of fair and balanced is to beat up on the Republican front runners? Ha! All Fox News is doing is digging in, beating dead horses and manufacturing dirt on the candidates they dislike. It just happens that they dislike the Republican front runners. Or maybe they are all wanting new positions at CBS News in memory of Dan Rather.

The front runners are front runners because the GOP establishment went AWOL on their promises to their voters.

I loved how Trump was doing his schooling of BOR in front of (an on the PA) 15,000 cheering fans at a campaign event

I stopped watching FNC back in 2004 when I heard O'Reilly say the Swift Boat Vets had no right to be heard.

Anyone who doesn't like their bias should stop watching too.

And watch what channel?

There’s nothing even moderate on TV other than Fox.

OReilly is for himself only-—to keep th numbers up and sell his products-—he was opposed to Trump from the onset ande I hope Trump knows it——since OR is so damned smart, he should run for office and assist his country-—that will be the day-—not enough money in it for him

Washington Post praises Fox for being tough on the Republican front runners.

Only because the GOPe picks aren't 'front runners'.

...Donald Trump, as is his custom, complained about unfair lines of questioning.

Well, the line of questioning was AWFUL. One question was, "Mr. Cruz, do you plan to carpet bomb the women and little children of [the ISIS capital]"?

I still feel the MSM, including Fox, are trying to influence who we get to vote for, be primaries or general election. That is not their responsibility. I no longer see Fox as “fair and balanced”. To me, they are now the same as all the other MSM...they have an agenda and it prevents them from being what journalists are supposed to be: agents who simply report the news, not give opinions about it.

Every reporter fantasizes about how they could have changed the history of the world if they had only had a chance to interview Adolph Hitler back in 1933 or 1934.

They think they can make up for that failing by taking out each Republican front-runner.

The news director at Fox News is Bill Sammon. His daughter is one of the press people for Marco Rubio.

Why do you feel the need to watch news on a television when you can get it online?

The last time I tuned it in was the Republican debate which was more than enough confirmation that I have made the right decision and have been missing nothing.

FOX has some kind of a love affair with Krispy Kream Christy. Tonite Lunce even brought him on stage to talk with his “focal group” He let Christy explain his hugs to OBamma etc. but Christy lied about much of it. He said it was 10 days before the election it was 3. Said BO was there to “help” his state, and he would do it again. He omitted much of what he said to BO —all the compliments. Lunce just pushed that group into liking Christie . Made them show hands as to if they liked Christy now and they all raised their hands. YUCK

Sorry to hear it’s him. He wrote a brilliant book on Bush v Gore.

He used to be on TV a fair amount. Now, he’s just disappeared.

BOR accused Trump of being thin skinned, has Billy forgot how thin skinned he was when people were questioning him on his accuracy about what he wrote in Killing Reagan. He came apart at the seams when George Will questioned his accuracy.
