Staff members in the Keene ISD could be carrying guns on its Johnson County campuses as early as mid-February following school board approval of the "Guardian Program."

Just wait for a few bullies to be shot before the gungrabbers start blaming the victims.
It seems only the gubmint teachers are allowed. Since teachers’ union is in the dem pocket, all hankypanky will be swept under the rug.

This will probably become common Texas.
Not sure what you mean here.
In Texas, all districts are independent. Yes, they have to fulfill federal and state curriculum requirements, and the “union” aspect is mainly annual contract content boilerplates and state level private pensions.
The locally elected board can call many of the shots for policy. For example, this district just said concealed carry is an option for teachers & administrators.
And yes, these ISDs are the public school districts, so private schools are not included.
I would expect it to become common in small districts. The urban districts (Dallas, Austin, Houston) no way. Ft. Worth might be the large urban outlier.
North Texas suburb districts will have a mix I would guess - some are liberal, some conservative.
That is the beauty of a Republic form of government: local independence allows one to easily move between areas that align with your personal values just still stay within a reasonable commute to the same job.
Amen!
This is great news!
There are no teacher’s unions in Texas. All teachers are hired on an independent basis.
“This will probably become common Texas.”
Then you have NO CLUE what type of people are running schools these days. But nothing personal, the vast majority of FReepers are in that camp, since they send their kids to those same schools.
