I started out hoping that Cruz would be the nominee. However, its things like this that push me away. We the people are fed up with politicians.

Politicians that lie, cheat and steal. Politicians who promise anything to get elected and then, have no time for the voters. Politicians who think they’re above the law.

If Cruz has any credibility, he needs to fire this “expert”.

There is not going to be any “brokered convention.” The mystery is why Kellyanne Conway would go on Chris Matthews show in the first place.

Kellyanne, if Trump meets all the rules of nomination of the convention, and they broker him out anyway, then it IS cheating. Just more disgusting GOP-e shenanigans.

lol, don’t hate the player, hate the game. I thought Trump was going to win “every state” according to his supporters... so this shouldn’t be an issue, right?

KC: No, it's not cheating.

It may not be "cheating" but it would be extremely self destructive! Such action would be perceived as a win for the corrupt and out-of-touch GOPe. Such action would put Cruz in their league.

Cruz uses psychological data to manipulate supporters and tell them what they want to hear:

The Cruz team are morons if they think they would ever be the beneficiaries of any GOPe skullduggery.

A brokered convention is what Reagan was trying for in 1976. And it’s what I was hoping for. Unfortunately, we got Ford. And Carter.

Nothing wrong with a brokered convention.

What if the primaries end and,

Bush- 22%
Cruz-20%
Trump- 20%
Rubio-19%
Carson-15%
Others- 4%

Now do you understand a brokered convention?

Bush would have a plurality, but about 78% of the voters would take anyone but Bush.

I’m shocked and disappointed at the cults of personality that show up on FR.

Would enjoy adding 2 cents to this article but will refrain from doing so until what is read is confirmed elsewhere. Liking Brother Ted and Mr. T, to favor one over the other is next to impossible. If there happens to be last minute rule changes, blatant shenanigans, it would be at that time that the cork comes out of the bottle and the spew erupts.

Candidates by law cannot have anything to do with Superpacs.
When a member of Cruz’s campaign staff says something THEN you can pin it on Ted.
What I’m waiting for is the noon to nine reactions of the Big Three in conservative commentary, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and Mark Levin. They like Trump okay but they LOVE Cruz.
The Donald calling Cruz a “maniac” for standing up to the senate RINOs and calling big fat liar Mitch McConnell a big fat liar was a YUGE mistake.

So a SuperPac does something, and this is evidence that Ted Cruz is a slimeball?

Sheesh. Some FReepers just don’t understand that by law candidates don’t control what SuperPacs do or say. Some FReepers are so each to promote their flipflop TV showman messiah trump that they’ll jump on any opportunity to damn Ted Cruz, even if it’s baseless.

The gal runs a polling company and decided "on the behalf of women" to back Cruz - she's not one of his advisors or beholden to give his policies.

Yet we have idiots here that will take it as a sign of corruption with Cruz because...well because someone posted it and some need to find something wrong with Cruz and/or trump because they couldn't handle actually winning an election with someone who loves this Nation....

One wonders how many of these "super-intelligent" pundits actually invests in the conservatism they pretend to espouse...

Now for a short public service announcement to all on FR:
We need to ensure we don't get another Obama-like America Hater as the next President.
The best way to ensure that is to actively support a candidate as the next President.
I prefer Cruz and my money goes to his campaign, hence the Cruz link. If you like someone else, donate to him/her (find your own link to do it) and if you use FR and don't donate, then please don't complain about the welfare leeches or those who have Obama Phones because, functionally, you are no different than any other FReeloader

PS - If you are one of those who cannot afford even a small donation to FR or a candidate, God Bless and happy FReeping!.....

GO CRUZ!! Keep it up Trump!!

Donate to FR

Donate to Cruz

Donate to FR

It depends upon how you define cheating. If you define it at breaking the established rules or changing the rules after the contest has started to prevent someone from winning, no it isn't cheating.

It will take 1236 delegates to win the nomination on the first ballot, and on the first ballot, all of the delegates are obligated to vote for the candidate to whom they were committed in the primary process. Unless Trump has 1236 committed delegates going into the convention, he will not win on the first ballot.

After the first ballot, the delegates are free to vote for whatever candidate they choose. It is at that stage that the wheeling and dealing will begin. And it is possible that the anti-Trump forces could put together a coalition to support another candidate that would be able to get 1236 votes. We may not like that outcome, but it IS within the rules, so it is NOT cheating.

So if Trump does not have enough delegates to win on the first ballot, we will see how good of a deal-maker he really is.

Any brokered convention would be to stop Cruz just as surely as it would be to stop Trump. Ms. Conway should rethink her position. In no way would Cruz emerge as a “compromise candidate”.
