Shortly after Ted Cruz told GOP power brokers that Trump lacked the "judgement" to be president, Kellyanne Conway-- who runs Cruz's Keep the Promise I super PAC– defended RNC plans to strip Trump of the nomination at a brokered convention-- even if he wins the majority of votes and plurality of delegates...

KC: No, it's not cheating.

...

Chris Matthews: The candidate who gets the plurality of votes-- the most votes...should be the nominee?

KC: No, I'd have to look at the math.

Cruz uses psychological data to manipulate supporters and tell them what they want to hear:

Yeah, I remember when Cruz was a big liberal in NYC, when he gave money to the Clintons and other Dems, congratulated Pelosi on her congressional majority in 2006, supported gay marriage and abortion, supported assault weapon bans, backed eminent domain, and only became a Republican recently! What a trickster! Now he has a couple of years of acting somewhat conservative under his belt and he says one or two things that people want to hear, but we we all know that deep down that he's a manipulative liberal who wants to get in the White House.

Wait that isn't Ted, wonder who that could be?

Cruz better distance himself from this quickly. If Trump calls him on it before he does, it could get ugly, and the Trumpster can be lightning-fast.

of course what you show is correct
and would call for a brokered event
but that’s not the scenario being discussed
the thing being bandied about is doing that to a clear winner

Ted Cruz is a great Conservative....but he can never win a general election against any Democrat, at this stage of his political career. It is as simple as that. We, Conservatives have a one time opportunity to destroy th Democrat Party as it exists today, by nominating Donald Trump as our POTUS nominee and Ted Crua as his running mate for VP!!!

Cruz cannot ever get enough Republican or crossover vote to even become competitive in the general election!!! But....if Cruz serves as DJTs VP....he surely can be elected POTUS, eight years out, after Trump leaves office!!! Folks.....no matter what the media tells you.....these are the facts!!!

So....folks in Iowa....think long and hard about who you will vote for in your upcoming caucus. If you give Trump the victory in Iowa......I can assure you...you will have elected Donald Trump as the next POTUS. If you vote for Ted Cruz....you throw it all away, maybe even the country and your safety, freedom. liberty & opportunity with it!!! four or eight years of Hillary Clinton will destroy our nation, forever and,,,in the process of failure, will kill thousands of innocent American, men, women & children!!! Think hard as to how you want to cast your vote!!!

Having the plurality of votes doesn’t mean you deserve the nomination. If 60% of delegates say they DON’T want you, then the majority doesn’t want you. They have the chance to coalesce around another candidate.

“That is an entirely naive view. Politicians of all stripes do what is in their best interest it is the people whom you should blame, for failing to vote their interest on an intelligent informed basis.”

You’re defending not only a brokered convention but Cruz’s plan to steal the election by it?

Cruz has shown he’s just a typical politician, just as slimy as all the rest.

Between this and attacking Trump behind closed doors then not being man enough to admit it, I see his true colors. I think his being the bad boy of the Senate was just an act to run for president on it. I wouldn’t vote for him now.

NOT GUILTY!

Plus she supported Gingrich last time, so she's a true conservative.

Not really. Everything that I have seen on this “brokered convention” story line is just media generated hype, partly to invent something to talk about and partly to create infighting among Republicans. What they are really hoping for is to keep 20% of GOP voters home next November.

Given the posts I've seen on this thread, I'd say that the media has been wildly successful.

Ted Cruz has been holding the line as a Constitutional Conservative, fighting the good fight, for years now. And yet, the Washington Post and MSNBC can instantly get 20-30% of Freepers to hate his guts.

Its time that a bunch of you people wake the hell up and stop being so easily manipulated. First, hold onto the ideology and forget about cults of personality. After 50 years I'll tell you that personalities ALWAYS disappoint. I'm enjoying Trumps run, although he's not my first choice, and I'll vote for him over Hildabeast, but some of you folks act like he's Kim Kardashian and you are just mega-fans swooning at the heels of celebrity.

Trumps got issues, so does Carson, so does Rubia, and in fact, so does my guy Cruz, but none of those issues rise to anywhere close to the ideologically evil issues of Clinton and Sanders.

So if you are acting like a tween at a Beeber concert over your 1st choice candidate, step back, get a grip, and remember what this is about.

Cruz said the same thing about Trump weeks before on Fox. Both times, behind closed doors and on TV, he said he liked Trump before explaining his plan to get his votes.

You’re falling for Trump-a-maniac hype.

Trump actually acknowledged the issue the other day when he said that he believes the convention would give him trouble if he was even two votes short of a majority of the delegates. That’s not agreeing to such a thing, but it is acknowledging that the convention sees differently a candidate who has a majority and one who doesn’t.

That’s actually a sane way for a party to look at a primary. A plurality vote winner is not necessarily the best candidate depending on small their plurality is.

If Trump were to have 34%, Cruz 33%, and Rubio 33%, then Trump would have more people having voted for him than the other leading candidate, but in terms of republican voters across America, 67% would have NOT supported him.

It would only be sane to sit down and discuss the best course of action. I don’t think the right answer is to impose someone who ran even more weakly or who hasn’t run at all on the party (A Bush, A Romney, A Pence), but I do think that it calls on them to find some way to get as many of those votes on that ticket as possible.

They should take the VP selection away from the Front Runner. If his plurality is just 34%, he should also have to agree on appointed X person as SecDef or SecState. He hasn’t demonstrated sufficient support to be permitted to make such selections purely on his own strength of support.

These are all party rules and not constitutional issues, so they could be implemented fairly easily if so desired.

saying something ‘shocking’ tall Americans think and is shocking only because it is not PC and therefore hasn’t been uttered because of the thought police is totally different than going along with dishonest political schemes.

Cruz does better against Hillary than Trump in every single poll I’ve ever seen.

Who started the mythic fantasy that Trump would do better in the general election? Trump proclaims often that he’ll win hispanics or blacks or women or whatnot, but it’s nothing but empty hype.

do you just cut and paste the same thing on every thread?

Trump has risked a lot financially to run. He has also taken huge risks by stating nonPC positions - they could have backfired easily instead of propelling him to the front. Someone pandering sticks to the middle, playing both sides.

I believe Levin has already taken Trump to task on social media.

As we’ve already seen, that will likely inspire the Trump-a-maniacs to diss Levin as a fake conservative who is involved in a conspiracy to bring down the one true American savior Trump.

Source? Funny how if he said Trump and Carson didn’t have the judgment or temperament to be president on TV before saying it behind their backs, it was never reported anywhere else. Not even Trump or Carson knew about it either.
