Stupid to run. We have noticed increased security lately, lots of OCSO presence at the entrance. It is private property, so Disney can have whatever weapon policy they choose, but I am guessing that the muslim women we have noticed in hijab and burka (one in full black only eyes showing get-up) weren't thoroughly screened. Can't say I blame the guy for carrying.

Simple enough to renew his permit. If the park doesnt’t allow it though, I wouldn’t waste my money there.

OCSO??? There are Trappists (Order of Cistercians of the Strict Observance) running aroung Disney Land? Things are going downhill even faster than I thought.

Taking a gun in the Magic Kingdom.

Here I thought they were talking about England.

The funny thing about Disney, at least in Anaheim, they look in backpacks, and have women open their purses, ostensibly to keep alcohol out. They do not have metal detectors to keep weapons out...........yet.

What kind of attorney? Public defender? Couldn't follow directions or afford renewal? Or was denied? And runs? Seriously?! Sure glad this idiot is not my attorney.

Disney is not off limits by state law, though trespassing is result if you do not ask to leave because you are legally carrying a gun.

Just went through Florida CCW class while there this past week.

The airspace above Disney is restricted too.

If you are a current CCW, all WDW in Florida can do if they discover that you’re carrying is ask you to leave with it.

It’s not a crime unless/until you refuse to leave.

There are probably a dozen or more CCW carriers in the Florida parks on any given day.

That said, it’s a lousy place to carry, for several reasons:

1. Lots of little people at eyesight to carry position
2. Lots of unusual positions for a carrier to be in and that increases chance of leaving a loaded weapon on space mountain. Oops.
3. Lots of facades. That brick wall you’re shooting at probably isn’t, and...
4. There are probably a hundred people hidden from your sight on the other side of that brick facade. Indeed, it’s a practical impossibility to control the trajectory of a round when there are about a hundred people as backdrop in any given direction.

CCW is about mitigating risk. WDW in my estimation is a rare place where it’s more risky to carry than not. Nobody is getting in without a pocket pistol and the place is lousy with undercover cops. I’m confident there that a shooter situation would be immediately controlled by professionals.

At WDW, the cops aren’t minutes away, they’re seconds. I’ll let them do their jobs.

I wouldn’t carry there.

I’m confused. Did he try to take a gun that was “in” Magic Kingdom or did they mean he tried to take a gun “into” it?

Oh, I forgot. The high school kid who writes the headlines was out sick so they turned the work over to the younger kids.
