If state officials are granted access to federal government watch lists-- including the no-fly list-- Malloy said he will enact the proposal immediately through executive order, denying people on those lists a gun permit.I'll be very curious to see if the government hands over their secret lists to Connecticut officials.

Local Connecticut opinion polls show that people are solidly against this. Even in deep blue Connecticut.
Local legal experts are also solidly against this. They note that there are no avenues to challenge being placed on the list.
The result is that avenues will be opened to challenge one’s placement on a terror list. Which will ultimately weaken the watch lists through discrimination challenges.

Why isn’t the “no fly list” a “prosecute now list”?

Congress won’t do it because there is some little quirk in our laws that saw you have the right to face your accuser. The watch list is nothing more than a wish list in most cases.

Isn’t it “unconstitutional” to apply a “religious test” to buy a gun? What the hell is this moron thinking?

common sense to a leftie
* prohibit buying a gun (2nd amendment right)
- by some people who can labeled potential criminals
- without "presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury" or "without due process of law" (5th amendment)
- without "speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury" (6th amendment)
- and mostly based on who we associate with and what we say (1st amendment)
I guess common sense to a leftie is that the Constitution is an old rag we should ignore.
My common sense is that once they've got the population accepting that it's ok to ignore these amendments it's a small step to convince the public to ignore the 4th (search and seizure).
I'd like some idiots to give up their 1st amendment rights based on the stupid things they say. I wouldn't want this to be forced on them without due process unless they start talking about quartering soldiers (3rd amendment) in everyone's home to report on who's scary and seize weapons. As outrageous as that seems, I don't know where they draw the line on limitations of government power.

Maybe Malloy should be nominated for the no fly list.

Let’s see you can’t fly on an airplane because you culd be a terrorist but the same people on this list can walk around freely in the USA
They can go to crowded places like movies , sports events, schools, churches etc etc
Makes a lot of sense
