Donald Trump swastikas appear in Atlanta

Images of Donald Trump on swastikas are now making their debut into this presidential race.

Police in northeast Atlanta spent much of Wednesday morning trying to scrape the swastikas from at least two bridge supports in the area.

The symbols feature a cartoon of Trump sporting a Hitler-style mustache and a bow tie made out of money.

Their appearance comes only days after Trump's controversial call to ban Muslims from entering the U.S. until a proper vetting process is developed. Trump said in a statement released Monday there should be a "total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States."

He later added during a campaign rally the ban should last "until our country's representatives can figure out what the hell is going on."

I saw numerous examples of name calling and comparing Trump to Nazis on Facebook today. How these people are so stupid they can’t discern a difference is beyond me. But in my experience, when one has nothing of intellect to offer to the discussion, name calling is often their plan b.

For parody to work, there has to be an element of truth to it. The tatooed Ted Cruz art in L.A. at the beginning of his candidacy work because it highlighted the "I'm not gonna play nice" aspect of the Senator. It also doesn't directly throw a suggested ideology at you. In its own way, it was subtle, as it could have just as easily been an advertisement for some local punk band.

The parody of Trump is not subtle. If they really wanted to do it right, it would take more work. Some of the Fascist Era art would make the point without just having a big ol' swastika.

Gary Trudeau, even when he tried to be funny, was a poor comic strip author because he couldn't draw. Drawing a white feather instead of Dan Quayle or a Waffle for Bill Clinton was done because he COULDN'T DRAW. The Trump representation doesn't look like him at all. It looks like Oliver Hardy with a blond wig on.

What's more, neither Trump nor Hitler ever wear bowties. Trump wears big fat power ties. They are pratucally a trademark along with the hair.

Finally, while I don't really believe in "Godwin's Law", something over the top like this makes light of the memories who dies under the real thing, and doesn't persuade or even alert anybody who doesn't already hold the same point of view.

These guys called George W. Bush "Hitler" many, many times. The screeds lack credibility when trotted out over and over again. More importantly, and to his credit, Trump is not trying to win their favor.

I am not sure which Cruz supporters you are referring to. I am not one of them. In fact, in my post 15 I defend Trump and make fun of this pathetic attempt to defame him.
