Bearing Drift Doesn't Like Donald Trump's Position Statement On Muslims [Answer: Tough]
Bearing Drift ^ | 12/8/2015 | J.R. Hoeft

Posted on 12/09/2015 8:42:54 AM PST by Jim W N

It is the opinion of the Editorial Board and many contributors of Bearing Drift that the statements made by Donald J. Trump, the leading candidate for the Republican presidential nomination in 2016, regarding halting the entry of those of the Islamic faith from entering the United States, are reckless, inappropriate, and contrary to the founding principles embodied in Virginia’s Statute for Religious Freedom.

Mr. Trump's statement is a direct attack on America's history of religious tolerance, and it represents a violation of the Federal Constitution, and in Virginia, of our Statute for Religious Freedom, the oldest such enacted law in the world. Since 1786, Virginia has protected the rights of every person within our boundaries, whether citizen or not, to worship as they please. Denying Muslims entry into the United States represents a violation of the requirement that America provide equal protection under the law for every person on American soil, citizen, immigrant and visitor alike, and that we do not prevent the free exercise of whatever faith they profess. Since our founding, America has welcomed those who have been persecuted, tortured, and oppressed because they found God in a different way than their fellow man. Whether it was the Puritans, the Quakers, the Mormons, Jews, Catholics or the myriad of other faiths sprinkled across our land, America has been a beacon of hope to those who wish to pray and live their lives according to their own conscience.

Again, it is the Constitution, not personal moral views, that is the issue when it comes to federal acts and omissions.

The Constitution does not mandate federal allowance of immigration whereas the Constitution DOES at least have an implied mandate for the feds to REPEL INVASIONS (Art I, Sec 8, Cl 15) and not to give AID or COMFORT to our enemies (Art III, Sec 3) which is impeachable treason (Art II, Sec 4). Bearing Drift needs to get a bearing on the Constitution, the ONLY source and authorization of federal power.

The Free Exercise Clause does not apply to foreigners, enemies or not, who want to immigrate to the U.S. If there is a question of an ongoing threat to our country coming from foreigners who are part of a purported "religious" group, then the feds' duty to protect U.S. citizens trumps whatever religious right might be construed on these foreigners.

We define our enemies by their words and actions, not by how they label themselves. Radical Muslims have declared war on America, whether they are Iran, ISIS, al Quida, Taliban, or whatever other Radical Muslim group de jour, and have repeatedly committed acts of war on America, killing thousands of Americans in the process. They hide behind a guise of "the religion of peace" the way they hide behind women and children while they murder.

Islamic Supremacy is a much or more of a political force than a religious one. The "jihad" of Islamic Supremacy is a movement to dominate not just the religious world but also the political world including replacing Sharia Law with national law around the world. The Constitution was intended to resist, not protect such, regardless of the labels they want to use.

The presumption of free exercise protection is that the religion being exercised does not include beheading those who disagree with them. And Muslim doctrine contained in the Quran teaches force and murder to advance their "religion."

We are in a war whether we like it or not because these people have declared war on America, Israel, and basically the whole world that is not Muslim. Certainly the radical elements of the Muslim world present a clear and present danger to the U.S. and we don't fully understand how to deal with this new-age, 21st Century threat, and until we do, Trump's proposal is sensible and sound.

Newt Gingrich wrote a wake-up call about all of this and is worth consideration.

Trump is right on the money. Bearing Drift is definitely drifting and needs to get an anchor in the bedrock of the Constitution and the clear and present danger of the Islamic Supremacy Worldwide Movement.

(f) Suspension of entry or imposition of restrictions by President

Whenever the President finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants, or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate. Whenever the Attorney General finds that a commercial airline has failed to comply with regulations of the Attorney General relating to requirements of airlines for the detection of fraudulent documents used by passengers traveling to the United States (including the training of personnel in such detection), the Attorney General may suspend the entry of some or all aliens transported to the United States by such airline.

The US has a history of throwing cultists out of the country. Rev. Moon comes to mind. Rajneesh in Oregon also off the top of my head. (I owned a store in Northern Calif. at the time and one of my customers was an adherent.)

Religious tolerance is a two way street, if you are part of ANY religion other than islam. Islam does NOT tolerate any other religion. With islam, you are either born into it, converted, -or- enslaved or killed if you do not submit.

Islam is the offical religion of ISIS. See those barbarians as an example of islam.

Islam is NOT a religion....ISIS is Syria; ISIL is Israel...it's the killing and beheading of Christians that refuse to join in their cult...it's a Caliphate which has been going on since the 6th Century....

Before we went into Iraq, Saddam the mad man, keep things under control...they would fight with Iran and then they would stop; then Iran would fight with Iraq and then they would stop...

We went in there and blew the whole thing up, then obuma and Hillary decided we needed ‘Arab Spring’ so off they went and blew that whole thing up...then along came Syria, and guns were running thru Benghazi into Syria to arm the people to topple Assad...and that hasn't worked other than it created this whole Islam mess again, and killed 4 Americans that neither obuma and Hillary have ever answered for...both should be brought to justice and tried for Treason....

If they don’t like that then they are really going to be upset when Islam is no longer a protected class of religion.

This should have happened already.

Isn’t it funny. Has there ever been a publication run by conservatives pretending to be liberal?
