An excellent way to kill off their search engine. Morons.
I want an original Ford GT40.
That isn’t going to happen either.
I assume that this means that Google wants the authority to define what “hate speech” is.
And if they go through with it, let’s all watch their stock plummet...... 5 - 4 - 3 - 2 - 1
I’m not sure of his intentions, but “social media” and “the Internet” are not the same thing. The latter is vastly bigger than the former. If a social medium gets too restrictive, it would likely begin dying off, to be replaced by something more open.
While inihibiting free speech goes against that old dusty founding document thingy we once called the Constitution, this is a private company and can do whatever they want. Just because a private company has a monopoly on information distribution (which is not new in America), we can’t tell them what they can and can’t do in their business. If Google is going to attempt to violate the letter and spirit of the law embodied in the 1st Amendment right to free speech, then Google should be the first party to forfeit its protection. Perhaps Google should be seized by the Federal Government for its violations of the Constitution and anti-trust violations restricting monopolies and cartels and/or eminent domain, breakup the organization, and sell its assets on the open market to companies who must compete for contracts to provide the former essential services.
