Google will play a vital role in helping us rid the world of bad independent free expression of thoughts. Google "truthiness" initiatove works with the Democratic party to ensure their search engine results rank some promoted "truths" higher than others. This is to protect the public from inconvenient truths that may create embarrassment for leftist doctrine.

With Google's latest announcement, we'll be all the better having them tell us what we can read and say...

Most of the “hate speech” out there is anti-Christian. I do not believe that is what he is talking about.

That isn’t going to happen either.

I assume that this means that Google wants the authority to define what “hate speech” is.

I’m not sure of his intentions, but “social media” and “the Internet” are not the same thing. The latter is vastly bigger than the former. If a social medium gets too restrictive, it would likely begin dying off, to be replaced by something more open.

While inihibiting free speech goes against that old dusty founding document thingy we once called the Constitution, this is a private company and can do whatever they want. Just because a private company has a monopoly on information distribution (which is not new in America), we can’t tell them what they can and can’t do in their business. Unless, that is, the government is participating in the orgy.

It is the inevitable next step.

After succeeding in duping Americans into accepting “common sense” gun control — the Death to America crowd is moving on to “common sense” speech control.

What should social media providers of good will do to detect and deny and thwart evil people intent on doing evil things?

“Kind” speech, of course, doesn’t need protection. The kind of speech that needs protection is that which some find offensive, hateful or repulsive.

It almost seems as though many governments refuse to take real action to defeat/halt terrorism within their borders because they'd much rather use it (terrorism) as an excuse to gut the rights of citizens & subjects.

Instead of policing EVERYONE'S activity on the net, why not kick out and not let the suspects in the country?

If Google rids the world of hate speech won't people create a new vocabulary to express their intent?

"Bake some cookies" could in reality become a rallying cry to kill Muslims.

If Google is going to attempt to violate the letter and spirit of the law embodied in the 1st Amendment right to free speech, then Google should be the first party to forfeit its protection. Perhaps Google should be seized by the Federal Government for its violations of the Constitution and anti-trust violations restricting monopolies and cartels and/or eminent domain, breakup the organization, and sell its assets on the open market to companies who must compete for contracts to provide the former essential services.

Google's chairman wants algorithms to censor the internet for "Hate" speech.

Most people won't care as long as they can lookup sports stats and sports news.
