Ted Cruz: ‘I do not agree’ with Trump’s Muslim moratorium

GOP presidential contender Ted Cruz said Tuesday that he disagrees with rival Donald J. Trump's plan to ban Muslims from coming into the United States until the federal government can ensure that those coming into the nation do not pose a threat to the country.

"I do not agree with his proposal," the Texas senator said at a press conference on Capitol Hill. “I do not think it is the right solution.”

Mr. Cruz said that some have encouraged him to criticize Mr. Trump, but said he will not to so. Instead, he said he is pushing solutions aimed at putting a three year moratorium on refugees from Syria and Iraq, and giving governors more power to stop refugees from being resettled in their states.

Mr. Trump has tangled with most of the candidates in the GOP field ..with the exception of Mr. Cruz .. though he warned at a rally in South Carolina that he will respond in kind if Mr. Cruz attacks him.

Always enjoy listening to Cruz talk about the Constitution. Never felt like he has leadership qualities we need to save our country. IMO, this confirms the matter.

I have yet to see any recent inflection points showing a "DJT is skyrocketing" trend. He has been up and down +/- 5 points since September. He's lower than his high... I expect even lower today in light of his comments yesterday.

My thinking on this refugee thing is a Muslim refugee should not set foot in any state in the U.S., continental or Hawaii until they have been preprocessed somewhere very far from our shores. I am thinking along the lines of Guam or Diego Garcia. Process should be slow moving and very thorough, difficult to navigate, which will either bring to us those who are truly in fear for the safety and not a danger to our country or those most committed to acts of terror. Were it the second group, we would have them nicely contained well off our shores until we figure out they are a bunch of radical islamists intent on hurting our country and citizens.

Of course our nitwit in chief will have none of the above, as I am sure doing something reasonable like keeping them off our shores for some period of time would cause more peace-lovers to transform into terrorists.

IMO the San Bernardino terror attack was a sleeper cell that indeed DID turn into workplace violence.

One which was brought about by 2 co-workers(perhaps others)questioning the motives of each others faith/beliefs...which eventually boiled-over and escalated into violence "by the one who happened to have been the only terrorist-in-waiting"...but in who's uncontrollable 'maniacal tendencies' to murder infidels decided to jump the gun and go rogue...for personal reasons.

If true, the question becomes, how many terrorist cells are there in the U.S., where are they located(strategically), and what opportunity/occasion are they waiting for to strike?

...more importantly...WTF is the Gov. doing to prevent/expose/stop/remove them?

...obviously not enough, particularly when shackled by political correctness media/academia/gov. police, not to mention a "Commander and Chief" who wholeheartedly espouses those same destructive beliefs.

There could in principle be better souls than Trump. It appears there are none others placed to help... kind of like Winston Churchill and WWII, forced into a forte. Trump probably never even envisioned addressing this issue. He was concerned with uncontrolled unofficial (but winked-at) Mexican immigration.

I see this as God offering a chance to America. Will it run with the best legs it has or will it hold out, frowning in inaction with arms folded, for the best theoretically possible legs to run with. Maybe God if acknowledged with both thanks and prayer and personal repentances, will bless this unlikely Trump fellow and/or add more help to the scene.
