I just wish the same logic would apply to super heroes, James Bond and all the other he/she is now black idiocy going on.

in theory you are correct because they did the Sound of Music a few years ago which had no black people..

I remember the commercials when I was a kid in the very late .70’s early 80’s in the NY Metro area.

It was funky. I wanted to go because Mike Jackson was in it and the pretty lady that sang “bad girls” also had a part. I thought she was pretty(Donna summers of course)

No matter, The Wiz songs are not equal to those in the Wizard of Oz. It might be a matter of taste but you can't beat Some Where Over the Rainbow, Courage, If I only had a Brain, etc.

Yes, it was an all-black version from its conception. In fact, the actress who played Auntie Em (Stephanie Mills) was the original Dorothy in The Wiz on Broadway 40 years ago.
