in theory you are correct because they did the Sound of Music a few years ago which had no black people..
that said i’m glad to see the outrage- with all the diversity/inclusion/PC crap thrown rammed down our throats and everything being racist if you don’t agree with all the PC crap its good they get a taste of their own medicine...

where appropriate, actors should portray their characters....whether they be white, black or inbetween....
but making up stories just to feature a certain group is pretentions.....

Many WWII movies (including recent ones) have few to no blacks; at that time in the segregated military they weren’t permitted in combat roles. This is probably why history as taught in public schools today seems to start with the collapse of the WASP culture (1960s); students learn little about anything before that.

They did
The Sound of Music two years ago in 2013 (with Carrie Underwood surrounded by a lot of Broadway people),
Peter Pan last year (which they totally mucked up), and
The Wiz this year. It's becoming an annual tradition at NBC. The rumor (just rumor so far) is that next year's musical may be
The Music Man.
Meanwhile, FOX is doing Grease Live next month.
