Back in 2013, The Golden State received an "A-grade" from the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence for having the strictest gun restrictions of any state in the union.
"The research shows that strong gun laws can keep people safe from gun violence," said the Brady organization. "We know that California's strong gun laws are saving lives."
Remember that in context of the recent guilty plea by former California State Sen. Leland Yee - a sponsor of draconian gun-control legislation - for attempting to arrange the importation of illegal weapons from Asia to the U.S. on behalf of undercover FBI agents posing as mafia wise guys.
Yee was just one among many governmental functionaries working tirelessly to deny Americans their Second Amendment right to bear arms under the absurd claim that they are uniquely qualified to protect us and prevent guns falling into the hands of criminals.

Yeah, so many of our violent crimes are from people being “run through” by someone with an AR and a fixed bayonnet. Criminals are all about “saving the environment” by not burning any gunpowder!
The anti-gunners are, quite simply, idiots who have neither any concept of, nor any use for, the simplest logic.
Guys like Lee are putting me behind the curve. I'll have to get a Level III vest with plates and buy a footlocker of C-4 to keep up with the neighbors.
