As long as certain persons continue to use ‘BCE’ and ‘CE’, their efforts amount to nothing more than a biased coverup of history as they shoot themselves in the foot of credibility.
If they don’t like acknowledging the existence of Christ in the Roman calendar, they can use the Jewish Calendar and reference years in BC or AD in parentheses.
And no it is not ‘accepted practice’ to use BCE/CE. It is a recent deliberate affront on history and the truth, no different than their comrades stateside being ‘offended’ by the Mt. Soledad Cross or any number of other similar ‘offensive’ symbols and references to genuine history.
Exactly. You have to ask them “what before/after the current era means”
Our ex-pastor began using those terms. Thatalong with other issues prompted us to change churches.
Israeli comrades in America (I assume you mean Jews in general, and are equating all of them to liberals) are not the only Jews who use BCE/CE. Ultra-right-wing political/religious Americans use it to— and are not offended by the Mt Soledad Cross (though that probably does offend liberals of any stripe.) So don’t read the news about a Jewish king of Israel if he is references in a non-Christ dating system. So... for you... it happened 3,076 years from the date G-d created the heavens and the earth...which was 5776 years ago. Cool?
BCE/CE is accepted practice and widespread; in countries that are not predominantly Christian it is used nearly 100% of the time. IOW, no, you’re dead wrong.
As I see it, the use of “BCE” and “CE” is Christophobic, yet it seems to be spreading. The other day, I found those abbreviations in a children’s book.
This will all soon be moot. The day after the election Obama will issue an executive order requiring everyone to use A.H. (Anno Hegirae) dating and the Muslim calendar.

Make their heads explode:
BCE = Before the Christian Era
CE = Christian Era
It’s fun.
Before
Christ
Enters
And
Christian
Era
That’s how I answer the new age morons.
I agree with you in principle, however archeological and historical scholars have been using the BCE/CE system for a couple generations now....
Agreed it’s an affront to Before Christ and In the Year of our Lord, but it’s been a couple centuries since we’ve commonly used those terms spelled out too.....
