The families of two Australian surfers missing in Mexico "hold deep fears" after two bodies were found in a burned van in a region dominated by a prominent drug cartel.

The van — identical to one belonging to Dean Lucas and Adam Coleman, the two surfers — was found in Navolato on Nov. 21, the Sydney Morning Herald reported. Mexican authorities were unable to identify the bodies immediately because they were too badly burnt.

You are safer driving through ISIS held parts of Syria than Cartel territory in Mexico

Two charred bodies found in the burned-out van.
They’re not missing.

The liberal/stoner mindset:

“Those people won’t kill me I am different than all the others, I am not like you.”

OR

“I can go anywhere I want common sense/rules don’t apply to me.”

The “COEXIST” bumper sticker didn’t protect them?

Cartel territory in Mexico

Which extends from about San Ysidro, then along the border to Brownsville, and then all the way down to Guatemala. Or further.

And now includes fingers of territory into the United States north of Sasabe, Arizona and extending north up to about Casa Grande. Or further, depending on the time of day.

My hubby used to drive down to Cabo with friends to surf, years ago though but things way different back then. He said no way he’d do it now. But he does go on hunting trips on other side of border, hate it when he goes! Usually a large group of them go down & said the locals love it when they’re there...they bring food, clothes etc..Said they’ve never seen or heard of any cartel trouble where they go & they always have local guides with them.

The “Celebrate Diversity” and “Tolerance” stickers didn’t, either.

20 years ago, I went on the Chihuahua Al Pacifico railroad and on the way back, I sat next to an Australian Surfer. Even back then, that area had some dangers.

That is almost as dangerous as driving through Detroit or Oakland.

Having lived in Santa Cruz for decades I can testify that surfers can be a special kinda stooped.

Condolences to the families.
