What do they gain backing Rubio?

They're simply protecting their positions in the pecking order and at the feeding trough.

A Trump-Cruz victory turns all of that on its ear.

Great picture.

Tone Matters, but Votes Matter More.

No, I’ll go with a guy who has consistently accomplished what he set out to do.

Yeah, Kelo was a great accomplishment he celebrated, I'll give him that.

Campaign contributions to 23 Democrats including Hillary Clinton are worth celebrating too -- unless he didn't really set out to do that.

Support for single-payer health care is worth celebrating, as is blaming Republicans for the financial crisis.

As long we're talking about accomplishments, that is. Stand up and cheer for that great "conservative", Donald Trump.

I went to New York City with Dick Allen's YAF group for a convention to draft Barry Goldwater. Having a Ronald Reagan supporter give a barnburner speech helped. Having a Trump streetfighting tag team partner would have left Landslide Lyndon in a ditch with a Marshall perforation.

Tone is what gets votes, especially votes formerly going to those who’ve dropped out of the race.

Gosh, Trump has lots of accomplishments! He accomplished avoiding the Viet Nam War by getting five deferments, one of them medical even though he was a star athlete in high school! And in spite of this, when he arrogantly sneers at Viet Nam veteran John McCain, belittling his war hero status with "I like people who weren't captured," his fans actually laugh appreciatively! That is indeed quite an accomplishment.

Trump failed to even attempt to defend himself against McCain's attack by calling McCain out on his bad, leftist, dangerous political thinking and strategies. Trump's accomplishment there was ... nil.

But hey, we're talking about Trump's accomplishments!! He accomplished national fame as a brilliant business mogul before he got into politics. He did it so well and masterfully that many people think the only reason Trump is famous is because of his great business acumen, when it is obvious that the only reason he's famous as a "genius businessman" is because he marketed that image through a long (10 years at least) campaign using the MSM and pop culture media as a venue.

The fact is that there are many businessmen who are considerably more brilliant and more accomplished in real estate and casinos than Donald Trump.

We have never heard of them because they never pursued notoriety. The ONLY reason people know Trump's name is because, in one of his most YUGE accomplishments, he put it there by using the MSM. His fans are convinced that he's brilliant because they believe the brand image Trump marketed to them.

His accomplishments in the context of politics CONSISTENTLY reveal a political moderate who leans toward government-directed "solutions" to problems.

Ted Cruz is the ONLY candidate who is authentically a limited government Constitutional (and very Christian) conservative.

We shall see but I think the votes will go to...

The fumble mouthed blowhard that can't finish a sentence.

That was my description of Trump before he jumped in.

I no longer claim to have a clue about presidential political contests because Trump has changed it all. We would all like to have Cruz but the people don't seem to agree with us. Of course the GOPe always have chaos and mayhem available in their tool chest to undo Trump.

I do hate that freepers still seem to think that they can advance their favorite by dumping on everyone else's favorite. Why do the DNC's opposition research for them?

...since there are few humans more widely despised than establishment Republican Senators........this is good news.

“...I’m Ted Cruz, and I approved this message.”

I think the Dems are attacking Rubio because they want him to win the primary. They know if they attack him it will make the voters think they are afraid of him and more likely to vote for him. They know he can’t beat hillary. The puppet masters are busy arranging all their puppets exactly where they want them. No one can stop them with the possible exception of Trump, simply because he can’t be bought and he seems to survive all the kerfuffles he stirs up.
