Republicans, fearing congressional end-run, warn Obama ahead of climate talks

Capitol Hill Republicans are aiming to take the air out of President Obama's push for a global climate deal at next week's international summit in Paris, warning they will block vital funding if he tries to circumvent Congress.

Obama and other world leaders are charging ahead with the two-week U.N. conference starting Monday, under heightened security in the wake of the Paris terror attacks. At a press conference alongside French President Francois Hollande, Obama cast the climate summit as a global statement of solidarity.

"What a powerful rebuke to the terrorists it will be when the world stands as one and shows that we will not be deterred from building a better future for our children," Obama said.

But at home, the country and the Congress remain deeply divided over the president's plans for cutting emissions - and lawmakers are worried he will etch an international pact without seeking Senate approval.

Looking for leverage, critics of the president's climate agenda have zeroed in on the president's goal of directing $3 billion - including $500 million in the near-term - for the U.N. Green Climate Fund, which would help developing nations deal with climate change.

Ahead of the president's trip, dozens of lawmakers warned the president: No vote, no money.

"Without Senate approval, there will be no money - period," Sen. John Barrasso, R-Wyo., said at a hearing last week, stressing that any agreement with legally binding requirements must come before the Senate for a vote.

“Without Senate approval, there will be no money - period,”

What an absolute outright crock of $hit! Whatever bammy wants, bammy gets. It will be another screw job. Another stab in the back to those that voted the RINO’s in. Another victory for the Uniparty.

I just can’t wait for Trump or Cruz to take over.

It will be just like the deal with Iran, where the Senate ahead of time said treaties need to be approved by the Senate, then did their own end run with the Corker Bill.

Republicans, fearing congressional end-run

****************
There they go again. The Republicans are perpetually in fear mode. You can’t lead when you’re always playing defense.

Exactly right. I have no confidence in anything the Republicans say or promise to do.

The only thing you can count on them to do is CAVE.

Ahh, but there’s the rub. Wait, we must. Unless, of course a black life doesn’t really matter so much after all and should be taken down prematurely so to speak.

GO TRUMP! GO CRUZ!~ YOU WIN OR WE LOSE!!

The same children he would gladly and gleefully rip their brains out during abortion.

Actually, the closer the election gets the bigger the Congressional Republicans balls will get. I know, I know bb’s to peas is not much but it is measurable.

So, what happens tomorrow?

Well, according to TPP anything agreed on and signed by President Obama in Paris is then enforceable under THIS TPP TREATY.

All of the candidates with red circles are specifically on record supporting TPP; or they have participated in the legislative process to specifically advance TPP.

GOP candidates TPP

Thanks, Smooth. I just finished reading your posted article and really perked up when I came to that part about him signing anything it would be enforceable under TPP.

I pray it’s not true and what a let down for me on Cruz if it is, I’ve been pushing a Cruz/Trump or Trump/Cruz ticket.
